Pros: The 8 cylinder to 4 cylinder indicator in the DIC
Cons: Nothing
Advice: Give Impala a chance against competition
This car is one of the best cars that I have ever owned. It is fast, powerful, sharp, and easy on gas if driven right. The seats are very comfotable for me as I have to watch my back and I can carry a lot of work items with no problem and carry my customers if needed. The color is the laser blue metallic and is just a gorgeous car to view.Pros: overall design
Cons: brakes, you have to baby them when you install them or they warp easy.
Advice: Dont mix dexacool with regular antifreeze or you will have to rebuild your engine, and torque your lug nuts to 80lbs when putting on your wheels to avoid warping rotors.
Our family has both a fully loaded ls (forest green) and a base model with a lot of the ls options added after the fact (bronzemist) Both have around 55k miles on them, bought them both with less than 30k and have not had a lick of problems. I live in Indiana and have driven mine to upper ny boston and back on a family trip where I averaged 36 mpg and could not have asked for a better traveling car. Only down side is that I am a big man - 6'4' 350 and could use a little more leg room, but for a daily driver it is more than worth its price.Pros: The style and the comfort and color
Cons: can't find anything yet
Advice: buy it
The first test drive I took in the Impala SS was really accidental. I went in looking for a Malibu LTZ and my wife and I saw the Laser Blue Impala SS and said we had to come back to lot when it was open and ask about it. So we were back the next day and bought it that night. I know that alot of you traded in cars like mini vans and suv's on this, but believe me when I tell you I traded a 2000 Camaro SS in on this car and I enjoy driving this more than I did my Camaro. I also own a 96 Suburban and an 84 Corvette.Pros: Everything
Cons: City mileage
Advice: It's a great car at a very reasonable price.
I've owned my 2006 Impala for 2 months and it's been fantastic. The performance of the 3.9 liter engine is quite impressive - actually more than you need. The quality and performance have been flawless thus far. It's also incredibly quiet for such a modestly priced car. The car feels very tight and solid. The only negative is that the gas mileage around town is fairly low - only about 17 mpg if you do nothing but city driving. It improves greatly on the highway. I'd probably prefer the 3.5 liter for the better mileage, but it's hard to find them with the options you want. Most dealers seem to order the 3.5 in a stripped down version.Pros: Room inside
Cons: No rear cup holders
Advice: RUN!!!! AWAY QUICKLY BUYER BE BEWARE! I Finished with GMAC,s JUNK!!!!!!!
Totally fell in love with the Impala first time I saw it!Pros: pick -up
Cons: wipers do not fold up, very hard to remove snow under wipers
Advice: nice car but understand the braking situation
on an incline I have to keep foot on brake. Or the car may rool back. This does not happen each time so brakes have to be applied at all inclines.Pros: gas pedal,bose,wheels...
Cons: speeding tickets
Advice: change oil every 3000 miles.
take 2006 impala ss for a test drive, and you will and up buying it, just like me.
