Advice: Shop aroundI felt safe in it. And the ride was really nice and smooth..
Pros: The look.
Cons: The upholstery.
Advice: If you test drive it you will love it!Great vehicle!!! All of my friends are raving about my new Equinox. It is spacious, comfortable and a delight to drive. Many people say it looks similar to the Lexus SUV. I love the MP3 player in mine. The only gripe I have is the seats. I wish the they were made of a better material. But I love my Equinox just the same.
Pros: All the great storage space...we have two young children...lots of space for toys, etc.
Cons: Probably the non-removable headrests...and the cheapy cup holders in the rear...I can not see those lasting TOO long with two little boys, plus they're rather inaccessible for children.
Advice: Do your homework on pricing..we were so glad we did.Love the way the Equinox drives...doesn't feel like I'm driving a 'truck'. I'm a petite woman, so that was important to me. Also loved the way the instrument panel is laid out, and the interior space is wonderful! I was sold on the more aesthetic aspects, while my husband was sold on the 'ride'. Love how quiet it is inside and how bumps in the road feel like just that...not like boulders.
Pros: The long wheelbase
Cons: Hard to find something I didn't like. I wish the rear seat head rests were removable.
Advice: If you're looking for a SUV with great leg and head room and flexibility with cargo space this is the one.Steering was very responsive and has an excellent turning radius. Good power from the V-6 engine. The vision lines, especially front view, are also excellent. The car frame gives a much smoother ride than the truck based 1997 4 Runner I had. The height is great for getting in and out of the vehicle. You don't have to climb up like with taller SUVS and you don't slide down like into a regular car. I was a long term Chevy/GM buyer who switched to Toyota products. The Equinox made me switch back. Time will tell if I made the right decision regarding reliability/mechanical issues and how well and how long this vehicle holds up.
