2005 Chevrolet Cavalier - LS Sedan

    Pros: acceleration

    Cons: leg room

Advice: Try one on for size if you are looking for performance at a cheap price. With the Cavalier being discontinued, there are good rebates to be had.

I would not have considered a Cavalier until driving a 2005 Cavalier LS sedan automatic as a rental. And I am now considering purchasing one. Front room is a bit tighter than my Civic. But the backseat seems to have a bit more space and the acceleration is far better, even better than some larger vehicles.

2005 Chevrolet Cavalier - LS Sport Sedan

Pros: Low center of gravity - holds the road very well in turns.

Cons: Keyless entry has short range.

    Advice: Try the manual transmission.

I went to the dealer's looking to drive an Aveo, but I picked out my LS Sport just browsing on the lot - the salesman didn't even suggest it, I asked him to get the keys, and fell in love with it from the first drive. It is responsive, fun, and comfortable. The 5 speed manual transmission is such a comfort after sloppy and lossy torque converters (automatic transmissions). Great rebates since 2005 is the last year for Cavaliers.

2005 Chevrolet Cavalier - Base Coupe

    Pros: Ride, handling

    Cons: Don't know yet.

    Advice: Excellent warranty and rebates

Handles real well in the corners, fun to drive. The engine surprised me, expected less from a 4 cyl. Seems to be very little play in the steering, makes it a little touchy on straight stretches.

2002 Chevrolet Cavalier - LS Sport Coupe

    Pros: Size of the car

Cons: Consistent problems with oil leaks - since purchase (only at 50,000 km now)

Advice: Beware of very aware of GM warranties before purchase

I have a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier and it has had problems since we first took it home. The car has 50,000 km on it and has had to have the main seals done a few times to stop oil leaks. The Oil pan has been replaced twice and and water pump has been replaced twice as well within the last 4 months. GM refused to reimburse the dealership for the repair on the oil pan because the report by the technician said the car was only sweating oil. Our car went another 2 months sweating oil onto our driveway until we were needing to put a quart of oil in once a week and then we had to take it back to the dealership. GM swears by their product and says it is a service problem with the dealership. I have taken it two different dealerships to get this problem resolved and it seems to be a GM product line problem. This will be the last Chevrolet we ever own. (I'm only 26, I imagine I will buy quite a few more cars in my lifetime!)

2004 Chevrolet Cavalier - LS Sport Coupe

    Pros: 2.2L DOHC Engine

    Cons: Headroom, Seating

Advice: Great value for a good car

I was very impressed with the overall capability of this model. Very responsive, the motor has to be the best feature of the car. The LS Sport package was very trendy, and I enjoyed it. I was also impressed of the overall value of the car, performance for money.

2002 Chevrolet Cavalier - LS Sport Coupe

    Pros: Appearance

Cons: Location of front cup holders and no light in glove box.

Advice: Go for the LS Sport model

I absolutely love this car! I picked the LS Sport Coupe b/c it's sporty with fog lights, rear spoiler, chrome exhaust outlet, 16' chromed aluminum wheels, sunroof (optional), and it has 140 h.p. compared to 115 h.p. in the base model. It has comfortable seats that wrap around you. Really good heat/AC. Even though, the air controls are in a bad spot, they need to be moved up a little b/c it's hard to change the air controls if you have a drink in the cup holder. Which is minor to me. It has a great 6-speaker sound system (w/ CD/tape player) to be factory. The trunk has a net in the front of it, which is good for groceries, etc. so they don't slide around. Great gas mileage. It's roomy to be a 2-door compact car. Anyone that has complaints about the 2002 Cavalier, must be talking about the base model b/c I would not have boug
