New Car Rebates and Incentives: September 19, 2013

Closing in on the end of September means beginning to wrap up this month's rebates and incentives on new cars and new trucks.  We start our list with the 2013 Dodge Charger full-size sedan, which can be had with the choice of either zero percent financing or $2,500 cash back, followed by the all-new 2014 Kia Cadenza full size sedan and its offer of 0.9% financing plus $1,000 in factory cash.  The 2013 Chevrolet Cruze compact sedan provides buyers with an available 1.9% financing rate or $1,500 in cash back, while the 2013 Toyota Venza mid-size crossover displays the choice between 0.0% financing or $500 in cash back.  Our final entry this week is the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee mid-size SUV, which makes available either 1.9% financing or $500 in factory cash rebates.

2013 Dodge Charger

The 2013 Dodge Charger is a spacious family sedan that also hides a sporty side.  The Dodge Charger R/T backs up the four-door automobile's angular looks with a stiffer suspension system and bigger brakes, and it also delivers options like the performance-oriented Road & Track package.

The 2013 Dodge Charger is initially offered with a 292 horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 that also generates 260 lb-ft of torque.  This engine can additionally be had in a specially-tuned version that produces 300 horses and 264 lb-ft of twist, and transmission choices include either a five-speed or eight-speed automatic.  Fuel mileage for the six-cylinder Charger is listed at 19-mpg city and 31-mpg highway.  The Charger R/T makes available a 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 that is good for 370 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque and is matched to a five-speed automatic.  Both motors can be ordered with an optional all-wheel drive system.

2014 Kia Cadenza

The 2014 Kia Cadenza is a brand new effort from the Korean company to appeal to full-size premium shoppers who also happen to be looking for a bargain.  This large sedan delivers attractive styling as well as a long list of standard and available luxury features at a price that is very competitive for its class.

The 2014 Kia Cadenza is motivated exclusively by a 3.3-liter V-6 that has been rated at 293 horsepower and 255 lb-ft of torque.  A six-speed automatic transmission handles the gear-shifting duties for the Cadenza, and fuel mileage for the car checks in at 19-mpg in city driving and 28-mpg on the highway.

2013 Chevrolet Cruze

The 2013 Chevrolet Cruze is a very modern compact sedan that is aimed at budget-conscious new car shoppers who also prize fuel efficiency.  The Chevrolet Cruze even makes available a special Eco package that squeezes as many miles from a gallon of gas as possible by way of active aerodynamics and special tires.

The 2013 Chevrolet Cruze starts out with a 1.8-liter, four-cylinder engine under the hood that generates 138 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque.  Moving up to the vehicle's 1.4-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder unit maintains the same pony production but pushes torque to 148 lb-ft.  The latter motor also delivers the most frugal fuel mileage, posting 28-mpg in city driving and 42-mpg on the highway.  A six-speed manual transmission is standard with either engine, and a six-speed automatic can be had as an option.

2013 Toyota Venza

The 2013 Toyota Venza is a mid-size crossover that aims to match the smooth ride of the Camry sedan on which it is based while adding extra utility to the mix.  The Toyota Venza can seat five passengers, and with its rear row folded forward it can also transport a respectable 70 cubic feet of cargo.

The 2013 Toyota Venza provides the choice between four and six-cylinder drivetrains.  The base 2.7-liter motor is good for 181 horsepower and 182 lb-ft of torque, while the larger 3.5-liter V-6 grinds out 268 horses and 246 lb-ft of twist.  Fuel mileage is remarkably similar for the two, with the four-cylinder squeaking ahead by one mile per gallon around town (20-mpg city / 26-mpg highway).  All-wheel drive is offered for both versions of the Venza, and a six-speed automatic transmission is standard across the board.

2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee satisfies both those looking for a useful daily drive as well as those who need a vehicle that can handle rough trail driving without so much as breaking a sweat.  The five-passenger Jeep Grand Cherokee can accommodate up to five passengers, and when it comes time to haul gear instead of people it offers 69 cubic feet of total cargo space.
