New Car Rebates and Incentives: November 14, 2013

Mid-way through November the hot rebates and incentives on new cars and new trucks are helping to keep us warm through the colder weather.  This week, we kick things off with the 2013 Kia Sportage compact SUV, which features the choice between either 0.9 percent financing or $500 cash back, followed by the 2014 Buick Enclave full-size crossover and its zero percent financing or $1,500 factory cash offer.  The 2014 Chrysler Town & Country minivan features a combined zero percent financing plus $1,500 cash back, or the choice of a hefty $2,500 in total cash rebates, while the 2013 GMC Terrain compact SUV provides $1,000 in cash back.  The last entry on our list is the 2014 Ford Fiesta, which offers zero percent financing or $1,000 in factory cash.

2013 Kia Sportage

The 2013 Kia Sportage provides families with a compact SUV option that doesn't skimp on equipment despite its affordable pricing.  The Kia Sportage can handle up to five passengers, and it also features enough interior room to haul as much as 54.6 cubic feet of cargo.

The 2013 Kia Sportage starts out with a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine that generates 176 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque.  Fuel mileage for this unit is listed at 21-mpg in city driving and 30-mpg on the highway.  The Sportage is also available with a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder that delivers 260 horses and 269 lb-ft of torque, while maintaining excellent efficiency figures of 21-mpg around town and 28-mpg on the highway.  All-wheel drive is optional with the Kia, and transmission choices for the SUV include a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic.

2014 Buick Enclave

The 2014 Buick Enclave offers an expansive nine-passenger cabin that is also quiet and composed compared to several of its full-size crossover competitors.  116.3 cubic feet of total storage space and a towing capacity of 4,500 also indicate that the Buick Enclave is more than just a pretty face.

The 2014 Buick Enclave features a 288 horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 engine as standard equipment.  Also capable of generating 270 horsepower, this unit is matched with a six-speed automatic transmission and provides a fuel mileage rating of 17-mpg in stop and go driving and 24-mpg on the highway.

2014 Chrysler Town & Country

The 2014 Chrysler Town & Country is intended to offer minivan shoppers an upscale people mover that checks in a bit below the price of several of the top-tier trim levels of its competitors.  The Chrysler Town & Country also comes with seven passenger seating and the Stow 'n Go system that makes it easy to fold the rear rows into the floor and take advantage of the van's 143.8 cubic feet of cargo space.

The 2014 Chrysler Town & Country is motivated by a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that has been tuned to provide 282 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.  A six-speed automatic transmission shuttles this output to the minivan's front wheels, and fuel efficiency for the Chrysler is listed at 17-mpg in city driving and 25-mpg during highway cruising.

2013 GMC Terrain

The 2013 GMC Terrain is a compact SUV that veers more towards luxury than sporty handling.  This helps the GMC Terrain capture buyers who appreciate its smooth ride and capacious five passenger interior, which also offers enough room to handle 63.7 cubic feet of luggage

The 2013 GMC Terrain's entry-level four-cylinder engine displaces 2.4 liters and delivers 182 horsepower and 187 lb-ft of torque.  The vehicle's available 3.6-liter V-6 upgrades to 301 horses and 272 lb-ft of twist.  Of the two - both of which can be had with a six-speed automatic transmission and optional all-wheel drive - the four-cylinder returns the most impressive fuel mileage (22-mpg city / 32-mpg highway).

2014 Ford Fiesta

The 2014 Ford Fiesta brightens up the subcompact segment with its lively handling and the availability of technologies like the MyFord Touch system.  Available in both hatchback and sedan body styles, the Ford Fiesta is the most affordable model in the Ford line up.

The 2014 Ford Fiesta is initially offered with a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine under the hood.  Capable of producing 120 horsepower and 112 lb-ft of torque, this motor features the choice between either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automated manual transmission.  An available 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder EcoBoost engine can also be ordered with the Fiesta, and although it restricts itself to the five-speed manual gearbox, it offers 123 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque.  Fuel mileage for the latter is excellent, showing as 32-mpg in city driving and 45-mpg on the highway.
