New Car Rebates and Incentives: May 29, 2013

Post-Memorial Day clean-up is in full effect at new car and new truck dealerships across the country, as rebates and incentives continue strong even after the holiday weekend has come and gone.  This week, we kick off our list with the 2013 Ford Taurus full-size sedan, which features zero percent financing plus $1,7250 in cash back or the choice of $4,250 in total cash back.  Next up is the 2013 Dodge Journey mid-size crossover and its 0.0 percent financing plus $1,500 cash back or available $2,500 in factory cash rebates, followed by the 2013 GMC Terrain compact SUV, which can be had with 0.0 percent financing or $750 in cash back.  The 2013 Buick Regal mid-size sedan delivers zero percent purchase financing or a healthy $1,500 in cash back, while the 2013 Chevrolet Traverse full-size crossover checks in with a 0.0 percent financing offer or $2,000 in cash rebates.

May might be over, but June is just around the corner, which means that we'll be back next week to bring you a fresh slate of rebates and incentives on new cars, trucks, and SUVs.

2013 Ford Taurus

The 2013 Ford Taurus is a full-size family car that boasts an enormous interior and dramatic exterior styling.  It can also be had with high tech features like the MyFord Touch interface, as well as in the SHO high performance edition.

The 2013 Ford Taurus features a 3.5-liter V-6 as its base engine, tuned to provide 290 horsepower and 255 lb-ft of torque.  An optional 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost motor is also available, and it delivers 240 horses and 270 lb-ft of torque along with fuel mileage of 22-mpg city and 32-mpg on the highway (three miles per gallon better than the V-6 for each respective measure).  The Taurus SHO comes with a twin-turbo EcoBoost version of the entry-level six-cylinder unit that is good for 365 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque.  A six-speed automatic transmission is included with each mill, and all-wheel drive is standard with the SHO and optional with the base V-6.

2013 Dodge Journey

The 2013 Dodge Journey is a mid-size crossover vehicle that can seat up to six passenger across three rows.  With the rear accommodations out of the picture the Dodge Journey is also capable of swallowing a generous 68 cubic feet of cargo.

The 2013 Dodge Journey is initially outfitted with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine good for 173 horsepower and 166 lb-ft of torque.  A four-speed automatic transmission is yoked to this motor, and fuel economy is listed at 19-mpg around town and 26-mpg on the highway.  A much more potent - and almost as efficient - 3.6-liter V-6 can also be ordered with the Journey, and it brings with it 283 horses and 260 lb-ft of torque (as well as the option of all-wheel drive).  A six-speed automatic transmission handles the shifting duties for the six-cylinder engine.

2013 GMC Terrain

The 2013 GMC Terrain provides compact crossover shoppers with a chance to sample premium equipment at a reasonably affordable price.  The GMC Terrain, which seats five passengers, is also a practical choice thanks to its 63.7 cubic feet of hauling space.

The 2013 GMC Terrain's base 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine generates 182 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque, and it also manages to deliver fuel mileage of 22-mpg in city driving and 32-mpg on the highway.  An available 3.6-liter V-6 makes its debut for the current model year, bringing with it 301 ponies and 272 lb-ft of torque.  A six-speed automatic transmission is standard, and all-wheel drive is optional for all versions of the Terrain.

2013 Buick Regal

The 2013 Buick Regal is a mid-size sport sedan that hails from the luxury side of the tracks.  In addition to its competent handling and attractive styling, the Buick Regal offers several performance-oriented models that deliver enhanced handling and power.

The 2013 Buick Regal starts out in mild hybrid form, featuring the eAssist drivetrain's 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine and electric motor combination that provides 182 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque along with fuel mileage of 25-mpg city and 36-mpg highway.  Moving up to the Turbo trim level introduces a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged mill that delivers 220 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, while the Regal GS pumps this same drivetrain up to 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque.  All versions of the Regal can be had with a six-speed automatic transmission, and both turbocharged models also feature the option of a six-speed manual gearbox.

2013 Chevrolet Traverse

The 2013 Chevrolet Traverse is a full-size crossover vehicle that drivers much more like a sedan than a hulking truck.  Refreshed for the current model year, the Chevrolet Traverse offers the ability to seat as many as eight passengers with its second row bench installed, and it additionally features a cavernous 116.3 cubic feet of total interior storage space.

The 2013 Chevrolet Traverse comes exclusively with a 3.6-liter V-6 that can generate up to 288 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque (when ordered with the LTZ trim's dual exhaust system).  Fuel economy for the Traverse - which is offered with a standard six-speed automatic transmission and available all-wheel drive - checks in at 17-mpg in stop and go driving and 24-mpg on the highway.
