New Car Rebates and Incentives: July 11, 2013

Our look at the best rebates and incentives available on new cars and new trucks this week adds a few exclusive models to the list that don't normally fall into the bargain bin.  Kicking things off is the 2013 Mazda MAZDASPEED3 compact performance hatchback, which features $1,500 in cash back, followed by the 2013 Nissan Versa compact sedan and its offer of zero percent financing plus $500 cash back or $1,250 in factory cash rebates.  The 2013 GMC Yukon Denali delivers luxurious full-size SUV living attached to 0.0% financing or an available $3,500 cash back, while the 2013 Kia Soul compact crossover can be had with a 0.9% financing incentive that combines with $500 in cash rebates.  Finally, the 2013 Dodge Durango full-size SUV provides the choice between zero percent financing or a solid $2,500 in cash back.

2013 Mazda MAZDASPEED3

The 2013 Mazda MAZDASPEED3 is an aggressively styled compact hatchback that is designed to offer high levels of handling and performance at an affordable price.  The Mazda MAZDASPEED3 also comes with a well-equipped interior in order to help sway speedsters in their purchasing decision.

The 2013 Mazda MAZDASPEED3 features a 2.3-liter, four-cylinder engine that has been turbocharged to produce 263 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.  This eye-popping output is directed to the vehicle's front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission, giving the MAZDASPEED3 the ability to reach 60-mph from a standing start in just a tick over six seconds.  Fuel economy for the hatchback is listed at 18-mpg in city driving and 25-mpg on the highway.

2013 Nissan Versa Sedan

The 2013 Nissan Versa sedan is one of the most affordable subcompact cars on the market.  Not only is the Nissan Versa easy on the pocketbook, but it also offers a surprising amount of interior room for such a small vehicle.

The 2013 Nissan Versa sedan comes exclusively with a 109 horsepower, 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine.  Also tuned to provide 107 lb-ft of twist, this unit can be matched with a continuously-variable automatic transmission in order to maximize fuel efficiency (a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic gearbox can still be had on the base version of the car).  The EPA rates the Versa at 31-mpg around town and 40-mpg on the highway.

2013 GMC Yukon Denali

The 2013 GMC Yukon Denali is a full-size SUV that comes up big when it comes to luxury.  The GMC Yukon Denali is not only loaded with premium features, but it also comes with unique exterior styling, and can haul as many as nine passengers or 109 cubic feet of cargo with the rear rows folded forward.

The 2013 GMC Yukon Denali gains access to a special drivetrain to further distinguish it from the regular edition of the SUV.  A 6.2-liter V-8 engine comes standard with the truck, and it produces 403 horsepower and 417 lb-ft of torque.  A six-speed automatic transmission handles the shifting duties for the Denali, and buyers can choose between either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.  Fuel economy for the vehicle checks in at 14-mpg city and 18-mpg highway.

2013 Kia Soul

The 2013 Kia Soul presents entry-level compact car shoppers with a useful crossover that features a taller roofline than most traditional hatchbacks.  Like many Kia models, the Kia Soul can be equipped with a respectable level of gear at a very affordable price, and it also provides 53 cubic feet of total cargo space.

The Kia Soul is initially outfitted with a 138 horsepower, 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that also produces 123 lb-ft of torque.  Buyers can instead elect to install a larger, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine under the hood of the Soul that upgrades output to 164 horses and 148 lb-ft of torque.  A six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission can be yoked to either engine, and the Kia's fuel mileage tops out at 24-mpg around town and 29-mpg on the highway.

2013 Dodge Durango

The 2013 Dodge Durango combines the brawn of a full-size, rear-wheel drive SUV with the unibody platform of a more compliant crossover.  The end result is a comfortably-riding people mover that can haul as many as seven passengers, swallow up to 84.5 cubic feet of cargo, and tow 7,400 lbs.

The 2013 Dodge Durango's entry-level engine is a 3.6-liter V-6 that offers up 290 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, while an optional 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 that churns out 360 ponies and 390 lb-ft of twist is also in the cards.  A five-speed automatic transmission is included free of charge with either motor, and the vehicle can be equipped with all-wheel, four-wheel, or rear-wheel drive (depending on which engine has been installed).  Fuel economy for the hefty SUV shows as 16-mpg city and 23-mpg highway.
