New Car Rebates and Incentives: January 9, 2014

Two weeks into 2014 and the rebates and incentives on new cars and new trucks keep coming.  Our most recent list begins with the 2014 Ford Fiesta subcompact and its offer of zero percent financing or $1,000 cash back, followed by the 2014 Buick Verano compact sedan which is available with the choice of either 1.9% financing or $500 cash back.  The 2014 Lincoln MKS full-size sedan features zero percent financing plus $1,000 in cash back (or the choice of $1,000 in total cash rebates), while the 2014 Kia Cadenza full-size sedan presents an offer of 1.9% financing or $1,500 in factory cash back.  The last vehicle in our round-up is the 2014 Toyota Sienna minivan, which provides buyers with the choice between either 0.0% purchase financing or $750 in cash back.

2014 Ford Fiesta

The 2014 Ford Fiesta is an affordable subcompact car that can be had in either sedan or hatchback body styles.  The Ford Fiesta hatchback adds substantial practicality to its above-average handling capability, delivering 26 cubic feet of total cargo space with the rear row folded forward.

The 2014 Ford Fiesta is outfitted with a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine that generates 120 horsepower and 112 lb-ft of torque.  Fuel mileage for the motor, which can be yoked to either a five-speed manual or six-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission, is listed at 29-mpg in stop and go driving and 39-mpg on the highway.

2014 Buick Verano

The 2014 Buick Verano is a premium compact sedan that is known for offering a smooth and quiet ride when compared to several of its competitors.  The Buick Verano is also priced to sell when compared to its European rivals.

The 2014 Buick Verano starts out with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder as its base engine.  Tuned to provide 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque, this unit delivers fuel economy figures of 21-mpg around town and 32-mpg on the highway.  It's also possible to step up to a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder motor that offers 250 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque while almost matching the mileage of the less powerful engine.  A six-speed automatic transmission is available with either version of the Verano, but the turbo adds the wrinkle of an optional six-speed manual gearbox.

2014 Lincoln MKS

The 2014 Lincoln MKS is a tech-laden full-size sedan that aims for the dollars of luxury shoppers.  The Lincoln MKS can be loaded with features such as a self-steering lane-keeping system, adaptive cruise control, and the MyLincoln Touch vehicle interface.

The 2014 Lincoln MKS provides a base 3.7-liter V-6 that produces 305 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.  Also available is an EcoBoost 3.5-liter V-6 that is good for an impressive 365 horses and 350 lb-ft of torque.  Both engines are matched with a six-speed automatic transmission, and while all-wheel drive is optional with the entry-level MKS it is standard on EcoBoost models.  Fuel mileage for the 3.7-liter shows as 19-mpg in city driving and 28-mpg on the highway.

2014 Kia Cadenza

The 2014 Kia Cadenza offers full-size premium accommodations at a price point that fans of the Korean brand have become accustomed to.  The Kia Cadenza's extensive feature set and affordable base MSRP are designed to help this new model make in-roads amongst entry-level luxury shoppers.

The 2014 Kia Cadenza is powered exclusively by a 3.3-liter V-6 that can be counted on to provide 293 ponies and 255 lb-ft of torque.  A six-speed automatic transmission handles the gear-shifting duties for the Cadenza, and fuel mileage for the front-wheel drive sedan checks in at 19-mpg in city driving and 28-mpg on the highway.

2014 Toyota Sienna

The 2014 Toyota Sienna is one of the most popular minivans on the market, offering up to eight passenger seating as well as copious amounts of cargo space.  With the second and third rows out of the picture, the Toyota Sienna can swallow a generous 150 cubic feet of cargo.

The 2014 Toyota Sienna's 266 horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 represents its only engine option.  Also capable of generating 245 lb-ft of torque, the Sienna's motor is yoked to a six-speed automatic transmission and offers fuel mileage of 18-mpg in city driving and 25-mpg on the highway.  The Toyota is also notable for being the only minivan currently available with the option of all-wheel drive.
