August pushes automakers towards Labor Day, which means that although the hype isn’t quite here yet the rebates and incentives on new cars and new trucks are quietly building momentum.  This week, our list begins with the 2013 Ford Flex full-size crossover and its offer of zero percent financing plus $1,500 cash back or a total of $3,500 in factory cash rebates.  Next up is the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu mid-size sedan, which can be had with 0.0% financing or $2,500 cash back, followed by the 2013 GMC Yukon Denali full-size SUV and its zero percent purchase financing or $3,500 cash back offer.  The 2013 Toyota Avalon full-size sedan comes with the choice between 0.9% financing or $500 in cash rebates, while the 2013 Nissan Juke compact crossover rounds things out with its 0.0% financing offer or available $500 cash back incentive.

2013 Ford Flex

The 2013 Ford Flex is a large crossover vehicle that can seat up to seven passengers within its comfortable cabin.  Featuring styling that is unusually angular, the Ford Flex’s almost-retro design is also capable of hauling up to 83 cubic feet of cargo with the rear rows folded forward.

The 2013 Ford Flex starts out with a 285 horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 under its hood.  Also capable of generating 255 lb-ft of torque, this unit returns fuel mileage of 18-mpg city and 25-mpg highway.  Additionally available is a twin-turbo EcoBoost version of the same motor, which churns out a hefty 355 horses and 350 lb-ft of twist.  A six-speed automatic transmission is standard with either engine, and all-wheel drive is optional with the base V-6 and included with the EcoBoost model.

2013 Chevrolet Malibu

The 2013 Chevrolet Malibu provides family car shoppers with a stylish mid-size option that can be had in a spirited turbocharged edition for added fun from behind the wheel.  Buyers should note that the 2013 edition of the Chevrolet Malibu features a rear seat that is a bit tighter than some of its rivals.

The 2013 Chevrolet Malibu is initially outfitted with a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine that generates 197 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque.  A more spirited 2.0-liter, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is available as an option, and it can be relied on for 259 horses and 260 lb-ft of twist.  For these seeking the best possible fuel mileage, the Eco trim features a hybrid drivetrain that combines a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine with a small electric motor to produce 182 horsepower and deliver an efficiency rating of 25-mpg city and 37-mpg highway.  A six-speed automatic is the only transmission available with the Malibu.

2013 GMC Yukon Denali

The 2013 GMC Yukon Denali is the luxury edition of the brand’s iconic full-size SUV.  With an eight passenger capacity and an enormous 109 cubic feet of total cargo space available under its long roof, the GMC Yukon Denali offers significant practicality to go with its high end premium features.

The 2013 GMC Yukon Denali comes exclusively with a 6.2-liter V-8 that is good for 403 horsepower and 417 lb-ft of torque.  Rear-wheel drive is standard with the SUV, but all-wheel drive can be ordered for additional traction.  A six-speed automatic transmission handles the shifting duties for the Yukon Denali, and fuel mileage for the vehicle checks in at 14-mpg in stop and go driving and 18-mpg on the highway.

2013 Toyota Avalon

The 2013 Toyota Avalon is a full-size car that has been completely redesigned in order to re-align its character with what drivers expect from a large, modern sedan.  The Toyota Avalon also features dramatically different styling for the current model year, without giving up the fantastic amount of passenger room and quiet ride that made it such a competent contender.

2013 Nissan Juke
