This week's list of the best rebates and incentives out there on the new vehicle market focuses on sport-utility vehicles - specifically, seven-passenger-plus workhorses.  Leading off are a pair of full-size domestic stalwarts: the 2012 Chevrolet Suburban which is offered with the choice of either $1,000 cash back or 3.9% financing, and the 2012 Ford Expedition which features 0.0 percent financing or the availability of $2,500 in factory cash rebates.  Up next is the 2012 Mazda CX-9 mid-size crossover, which combines a zero percent financing offer with $500 in cash back, followed by the full-size 2012 Nissan Armada SUV and its 0.0% financing or $4,000 cash rebate incentive.  The last sport-utility vehicle for our current roundup is the mid-size 2012 Dodge Durango which can be had with either zero percent financing or a healthy $1,000 in factory cash back.

Make sure to stick with us next week as we continue to bring you our take on the most impressive bargains and deals to be had on a range of new cars and new trucks.

2012 Chevrolet Surburban

The 2012 Chevrolet Suburban is a full-size SUV that offers seating for up to nine passengers if ordered with the optional front bench.  The Chevrolet Suburban also features a hefty 137 cubic feet of total internal storage space and can tow as much as 8,100 lbs of trailer weight when properly equipped.

The 2012 Chevrolet Suburban features a 5.3-liter V-8 as its sole engine option, and this unit has been tuned to provide 320 horsepower and 335 lb-ft of torque.  Fuel economy for the heavy SUV checks in at a reasonable 15-mpg in city driving and 21-mpg on the highway, made possible in part by the inclusion of a six-speed automatic transmission.  The Suburban is also available with four-wheel drive.

There is a financing incentive of 3.9% interest or $1,000 cash back on the 2012 Chevrolet Suburban available until 04/30/2012.

2012 Ford Expedition

The 2012 Ford Expedition is the Suburban's chief competitor, and as such it comes very close to the Chevrolet in each of the important categories.  The Ford Expedition can handle as many as eight passengers across three rows, and when ordered in extended-wheelbase EL trim it can swallow 130.8 cubic feet of luggage.  The Expedition is also rated to tow 9,200 lbs of trailer weight.

The 2012 Ford Expedition is motivated by a 5.4-liter V-8 engine that puts out 310 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque.  Four-wheel drive is optional with the SUV while a six-speed automatic transmission is standard, and fuel mileage shows as 14-mpg in stop and go driving and 20-mpg on the highway.

There is a financing incentive of 0.0% interest or $2,500 cash back on the 2012 Ford Expedition available until 05/31/2012.

2012 Mazda CX-9

The 2012 Mazda CX-9 is more crossover than SUV thanks to the Japanese brand's standard practice of engineering in a little bit of sports car DNA into each and every one of its offerings.  The Mazda CX-9 still delivers the goods when it comes to passenger room (up to seven) and cargo space (as much as 101 cubic feet), which makes it an appealing choice for families on the go who also crave some fun behind the wheel.

The 2012 Mazda CX-9 is matched with a 273 horsepower, 3.7-liter V-6 that also generates 270 lb-ft of torque.  A six-speed automatic transmission is provided free of charge, and buyers can choose between front-wheel and all-wheel drive editions of the crossover.  Fuel economy for the former is rated at 17-mpg in city driving and 24-mpg during highway cruising.

There is a financing incentive of 0.0% interest plus $500 cash back on the 2012 Mazda CX-9 available until 04/30/2012.

2012 Nissan Armada

The 2012 Nissan Armada is a behemoth of a full-size SUV, with a road presence befitting its name.  The Nissan Armada shares its platform with the Nissan Titan pickup truck, which gives it the full frame necessary to tow up to 9,100 lbs.  The SUV also offers a cavernous interior that can transport eight passengers or haul 97 cubic feet of gear.

The 2012 Nissan Armada leaves the factory with a 5.6-liter V-8 engine under the hood.  This mill produces an appreciable 317 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque, managed by a six-speed automatic transmission.  Fuel mileage for the Armada is reported as 13-mpg around town and 19-mpg during highway driving, and four-wheel drive can be added to the SUV as an option.

There is a financing incentive of 0.0% interest or $4,000 cash back on the 2012 Nissan Armada available until 04/30/2012.
