just right vehicle
Pros: radio
Cons: power window
It was my first time when I bought this car. I just passed my DMV test and I put up a down payment w/o me having any knowledge about cars. And being a used car that not everything was reported there were some hitches. I wish I knew then what I know now, maybe things would have been better and I would have been happy.2000 black beauty
Pros: Drives great. Excellent on gas.
Cons: How fast the pant started to peel
2000 galant drives great great on gas. Need replacement driver mirror. Needs a paint job.great car
Pros: compact
Cons: backrest
Has never failed me so far. Long as maintenace are kept within schedule, this vehicle will return the favor in performance.Wide car
Pros: Air condition
Cons: Console materials
The very good thing of this car is the leg space. The car is considered a good family car.But sometimes you feel that it's made of cheap material. The A/C is excellent.Great Sporty Sedan
Pros: Overall engineering (design and performance)
Cons: hard plactics in passenger space.
ES Sport with over 14,000 miles, mostly highway includes 2,200 mile vacation to WA & OR, O/A 30 MPG. It loves to run around 75MPH. Quick, agile, and firm on the road. CVT works well but requires some getting used to as no manual downshift to 2nd gear is available. Engine braking in low is limited to slow speeds but in drive the computer adjusts for driver habits and selects proper engine RPM for desired performance. Braking and overall handling are excellent. This car replaced a 2002 Lancer ES sedan and is worlds ahead in safety and upgrade features including sound system, moonroof, bluetooth (as yet unused), keyless entry and operation, and full down rear windows. Has had zero maintenance issues.Pros: Higway ride. The car is fast and holds the road like glue.
Cons: The 'no suspension' quality of the car. You are the suspension. lol
Advice: Do not buy it or any of the gts models unless you can live with the faults I mentioned. Buy the es or de less expensive models which does not have so many faults like the above.
Pros: The engine, transmission, cruise, braking, steering all work well and are easy to operate. Cons: he fuel economy is below par. The suspension is weak. There is a lot more road noise than my prior 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer es. The rear view is not good. There is no light in the trunk -you can not see anything in there at night. There is also no remote trunk release. The buttons on the Steering wheel are not illuminated so you cannot see them at night. The front and rear headlights are not illuminated just because the dash board is, like on most cars. You have to check them. The back support is not great on the front seats because the head rests are slanting too far forward preventing your upper back from really hitting the seat - causing fatigue.Pros: Sportonic mode/Paddle shifters, highway driving, solidness of the car, Larger alloys hold the road, back seats fold to give more cargo space.
Cons: Stiff and uncomfortable ride, I find myself looking at the road to avoid holes and bumps instead of enjoying the ride.
Advice: If you like a fast highway car that hugs the road, looks beautiful and you can afford a lot of gas, buy it.
The beauty of the cars appearance can detract you from the fact that it's an expensive car with many faults. But the 10 year 100k powertrain warranty and the 6 yr bumper to bumper LIMITED warranty helps. (as long as you keep all receipts and do all required maintenance in their manual mits warns you)And the limited warranty has many limitations. You should read the warranty before you buy the car. I didn't buy it mainly because the fuel economy is far below its competitors, Honda, toyota, ford, and even kia. And reviewing lancers on many websites, I found comments by owners about problems ocurring in a short time as: paint chips, easy dents on the side panels, rear suspension needing lots of repair, (possibly true, because in my test drive, I hit a few imperfections on the road and the car did not seem to be able to absorb the impact but rather it was like the impact hurt the car - and possibly many of these could cause premature wear); tires wearing out fast - (might be true because I read mits owners manual for all gts lancers and they make you start rotating the tires at only 3,500 miles ????, probably to try to make the tires last longer because they are aware of the problem. And after also test driving the regular gts, it looks like all the lancer gts cars are similar except that the spoiler on the non sportback gts was placed too high up in the rear windshield, blocking some vision and the 2008 gts does not have the much better 2.4 engine the 9's and 10's have.
