Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: The standard CD player and power every thing.
Cons: The Shifting in the low RPMs.
Advice: Get the convenience package.
The car is drives vary well but the trasmission can shift a little ruff with low RPMs. The car does down shift promptly and has a lot of mid range power. The low end power is not all that great till around 3000 RPMs. The over a look of the car is excellent with the marble on the front dash. I think the car is about the best you can get for the money.Pros: Good Value, Good Service
Cons: Cheap speakers
Advice: The Lancer LS is the best compact on the road today!
The 2003 Lancers were designed from the ground up, and it shows with careful effort on quality and styling. . Great exterior looks--similar styling as many Lexus vehicles. Peppy, smooth, and quiet. Simple, spacious interior ( rear is kinda small)--the cabin and trunk space are average for a compact car. It rides higher than most other cars in its class, too, which gives you added visiblity and easier entry/exit(m except for the rear which I don't use!). The Lancer feels like a $20,000+ car. Mitsubishi has raised the bar for this class of car. I hear there is a new 260hp engine coming out next year! The Lancer is also very highly rated by top motorists and magazine powerhouses.Pros: Steering
Cons: Power and CD player
Advice: Not worth the price the car is priced at.
The car lacks power. Its transmission ,sort of, cries when you have to accelerate to get onto highway. For local roads, its fine. The steering is quite comfortable. The CD player is a very inferior quality one. My have CD player had to be changed within one month of buying. Not worth the money overall.Pros: The look of the car, It reminds me of a smaller version of the Mercedies car.
Cons: This car is not as quick as other people have said.
Advice: Buy the LS version or the OZ rally version, you will be happier.
I love the look of the lancer. The car drives very nice and the handling is great. When it comes to passing other cars just plan for it to take a few more seconds. The power of accelerating is very low when it's time to pass another car. They had a lot of choices of packages to chose from. I like the color white and the gray interior, but the glass is not tinted very dark. It reminds me of a smaller version of the Mercedies car. It gets very good gas milage and handles very nicly when it rains and snows. You can't even tell its nasty outside until you get out of the car. Other then the get up and go this car is a very cool car. I have heard others say that 2004 lancer will have a 250hp 2.4 lt eng. to chose from. I can't wait.Pros: Great looking, good mileage
Cons: nothing really
Advice: A great car. really
bought the blue Version of the LS- Which I love- Nothing better than having a color that very few are seen with around town in one of the most popular cars ever. Its gets alot of looks everywhere I go.I love the smooth line of this civic- I like the interior all knobs are easy to reach- I do have some cons: Having to buy the supreme gas stinks right now with our high gas prices. Seats are too high( I am a 5'6 female) you have to get used to a semi recling position. Turning Knobs on seat make seat positions feel odd. But You forget about this when driving the LS because its so fun to drive. Its super quick, responsive and I love the Spoiler I added(a common size spoiler- rather than the large high spoiler it can come with. There are lots of ad ons you can put on the LS which makes it fun. I find the back seat to be roomy and I like the idea that the seat rolls forward making it easy for my 13 year old to climb in and out of. The trunk size is generous. Love the color matching rear view mirrors and trim. The leather wrapped stearing wheel makes it so nice- its sooo smooth, that you never want to get out of the car! You cant go wrong with a Mitsubishi that retains so much of its value for longer than most cars in its class. Buy It - You'll Love it too...Pros: Quiet ride, perfect for me.
Cons: nothing
Advice: Test Drive one. You won't regret.
The car is very simple and extremely functional. I purchased this vehicle with a lot of expectations and so far so good. It really lacks the pick up speed I had hoped for however I didn't buy the car for speed, I bought it for its dependability. I drive 150 miles a day and the front seats are very comfortable. The arm rest helps out on the long hauls but is worthless in the city. For the ES, you cannot have an aftermarket stereo installed because the keyless entry system works in conjunction the stereo. Therefor, want a better stereo, that means no keyless entry. Overall nice car. Great gas mileage.Pros: Exotic looks, Firm ride, Seems very sturdy
Cons: Needs rear disc brakes, spolier too big!
Advice: Get one now. Its the best race-like compact on the road today!
Its the closest thing to the Evoloution VII. The sport tuned suspension is not really 'sport' but the car does have an all- rounded responsive intense to it. In yellow, it is very flashy and attracts alot of attention. Standard wheels are great. The sound system is great. Handling is very responsive. In comparison the the Mazda Protoge5, the )Z Lancer is a better car in terms of ride/quality. It will be much nicer with a manual tranny. Its the best 'wanabee' Rally car for under 17K. The car seems to very very well built with no flaws or squeaks. The spoiler is way too big, and causes some blind spots.
