Pros: everything easy to handle
Cons: no speed control
would buy another onereally good deal
Pros: drives really great
Cons: no cruise control
Great car.Pros: The style of the vehicle
Cons: The accelerating problem
Advice: Since ther have been no recalls on this vehicle for the problem that I experienced I would check to see if anyone else has had this problem before I purchased it.
I purchased my vehicle in 2003 and was happy with it's performance up until September of 2005. On three different occasions I experienced the car making a funny noise and accelerating on it's own. I took the car to have it serviced and was told by the service repair person that no one had ever reported having a problem of this kind. Since I have had the vehicle repaired I do not feel comfortable driving it. I bought all new tires because I was told that my two front tires were starting to bald. It appears as though the car could be idled too high or something. Since I do not know that much about cars I have no idea what the problem could be. If Mitsubishi does not know what is wrong with it there would be no way that I would even have a clue. I had my vehicle serviced by Mitsubishi in September 2005. I was told that the vehicle was due for some computer upgrades which may or may not have caused the problem that I experienced with my vehicle. All I can say is since I have had the car serviced it still feels as though it is accelerating when I am trying to slow down. I am now in the process of trying to pay off the vehicle so that I can trade it in for another Make/Model. Before this problem arose I had anticipated trading my Lancer in for the new Eclipse. I guess that I do not have to tell you that Misubishi will be losing me as a customer.Pros: the shape of the car
Cons: the price
Advice: if you enjoy comfort and sportiness, this is your car.
If you're looking for a sporty, comfortable ride, this is your car. It handles well, a bit of a gas guzzler, and is roomy. The price was a little steep for it's class, but it's definitely a cool car.Pros: interior space, easy braking, small shifter, outside folding mirrors, easy steering, nice cd player
Cons: Engine noise, timming belt, sohc engine instead of dohc, depreciation, little torque
Advice: dont' buy it new: buy a used one at least one with low mileage one year old and save 4 to 5k instantly because of the depreciation.
seats stiff, engine noisy at lower rpms, lacks torque at higher, road and wind noise on expwy is obvious, transmission shifts good, manuevering excellent, suspension excellent, brakes stop the car easily and fast, GAS economy fair, folding outside mirrors -excellent, interior space outstanding, reliabilility unknown - the car it replaced, the mirage did not have a good record, depreciation high, especially in the 1st year: crash test was pretty good, uses SINGLE OVERHEAD CAM ENGINE sohc, instead of a double overhead cam dohc that the better cars in it's class use, like toyota, nissan, etc.. mits saved money with the sohc - the doch lasts longer has more power and is quieter, has a timming belt instead of a timming chain like corolla, sentra have, that runs you more in maintenance costs in the long run.Pros: Standard CD player
Cons: No cruise control or anti-lock brakes offered for ES
Advice: Test drive everything
Not as much pick up as I was used to, but is better than I expected for a four cylinder. Pretty quiet inside and the AC works good at top speeds.Pros: My favorite feature is probably the look of the car.
Cons: I like everything so far
Advice: If you are looking at buying a Lancer make sure you drive it and look at all the options you can recieve.
I just bought a new 2002 silver OZ Rally Lancer and I love it. This is my first car and it drives great. It has an awesome stereo system and cd player.
