Advice: noneAbsolutely in love with this car!!!
Cons: no satellite radio or navigation option
Advice: nonethere are not any other cars on the market that offer the same features as the Eclipse: Hatchback, sporty, rear seats, 2 door, sunroof, 5 yrs standard warranty, fog lights, 6 cyl., under $30k
Pros: Dash and controls
Cons: blindspots on sides
Advice: This is a unique quality vehicle for someone who wants a lot of sports coupe for under 35 grand. This Eclipse is the best ever although it took almost six months for me to decide to trade in my 2002 GT for the 2006. However, I have no regrets and only high satisfaction. It has power and control that reminds me very much of the first generation models. Fully loaded, it is priced a little on the steep side. Its fuel economy is unimpressive. It is comfortable and quiet and feels solid.
Pros: The appearance and the driving experience.
Cons: The blind spots.
Advice: I would not recommend this car to someone who is very tall or very big. Otherwise, this car makes you happy just to be driving it...This car is fun to drive. I love it. This is not a family car. But is great for one or two people. Very quiet, great appearance and a great sound system. I am very happy with my choice of cars.
Cons: Where do I begin?? Overall, the easiest way to say it is lack of quality.
Advice: STAY AWAY unless you like to pay a lot of money to buy a vehicle that falls apart.DO NOT BUY AN ECLIPSE!! We have had nothing but problems with ours since buying it new for close to $30,000 less than a year ago. Brake recalls, 4 warped rotors, 3 rattles, and a horrible, peeling, chipping paint job are just a few of the issues we are dealing with. Not to mention the lack of customer service and integrity at any Mitsubishi dealer you try to deal with. Stay away, Mitsubishi has somehow managed to put together a car that looks good but that completely lacks any quality or customer service. I would recommend not only staying away from the Eclipse, but any Mitsubishi vehicle out there. The only way to keep them from continuing to put out vehicles that fall apart and then not take responsibility for anything is to stop giving them business so they will go ahead and go under. They are already well on their way.
Pros: Convertable Top
Cons: Rear visability
Advice: I have owned 2 other Mitsus in the past and they never gave me any problems.I traded in an 04 RX8 automatic for the Spyder GT automatic for several reasons; I usually trade every 2 years, I wanted a convertable which I have never owned before, and I did not like the Rotary engine with the 4 speed automatic. I find the Eclipse more comfortable and roomy inside. The power is smoother than the RX8, gas mileage is about the same. RX8 looks better IMHO. Spyder sounds better IMHO. Rear visability is poor in both, RX8 handled better. I have had no problems so far.
Pros: The ease of top and how it is stowed away.
Cons: Tilt steering wheel needs more upward travel (typical of most Japanese cars).
Advice: Give Mitsubishi a shot.Great pickup, decent handling (ya it's not a true 'sports car' for handling but at least you can drive it everyday!). The top and stereo are top notch. Styling is eye catching.
