Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: The appearance and the comfort
Cons: I wanted leather interior
Advice: Buy it and love it!!!I just got my coupe about three weeks ago and I am loving it. The appearance is eye-catching (but still classy). I can't help but zoom around town (it's hard to keep it parked for too long).
Pros: seats are very comfortable
Cons: no real spare tire-donut spare which is worthless
Advice: think about what you will do if you blow a tire in the middle of nowhereCar is quick and comfortable and safe but the tires are different sizes. Hence the only spare is a donut. It's good for a few miles but worthless on a long trip. A replacement tire is extremely difficult to obtain; you have to get it directly from Mercedes-Benz and getting Mercedes to honor the tire warrantly is VERY difficult. In other words, this is not a touring car. If you have a blowout you are in real trouble.
Pros: Handling on slick service
Cons: Front wheels brake dust
Advice: C320 4Matic is the ultimate compact/midsize car - it is expensive, but worth it!C320 4matic is the best small car I have owned. It has a powerful engine, solid body, solid interior and great handling on slick surface. I feel safe and secured driving this car.
Pros: electric adjusting, memoryseats soooooo comfortable- feel like recaro racing seats
Cons: window controls are low on the door, sometimes difficult to reach
Advice: get the stereo upgrade, and electric seats, and definitely metallic paint !fun , sporty car to drive, with all wheel drive a little slow off the start, but plenty of pep on the highway. responsive, comfortable, and quiet inside. definitely get the stereo upgrade speakers - sounds like a concert hall!! loved the extra typical mercedes features rearview mirrors adjust to view curb on back up, auto up windows, seats etc when exit and enter seats. definitely get the electric seats. standard wood interior/leather seats more than comfortable and luxurious. metallic paint is so gorgeous the car glitters constantly , a true head turning car !soooo happy with this car!!
Cons: lak of off the line power
Advice: Drive this car in stop and go traffic before buying it.Great car. I got my 230 Sport Sedan in September and I love it. Looks great and drives wonderfully. The new updated look turns heads eveywhere. The car needs more low end power but at higher RPMs the motor is very responsive. I would recommend this car to anyone looking for style, quality and good gas milage. So far, I have been getting 26 miles a gallon.
Pros: The tighter suspension and 17' Inch tires & Rims. This car is sooooo tight!
Advice: Don't underestimate the quickness of the C230 Kompressor Supercharged Engine.I traded my 2002 C320 Sport Sedan for the 2005 C230 Kompressor Sport Sedan. The C230 has a smaller engine than my C320 did - but I can't tell! They have made so many improvements in this model from the wheels, new sport seats, tighter suspension, sport steering wheel, chrome brake and gas pedal, re-styled interior, new stylish gauges... shall I go on? I test drove and Audi A4 Ultra Sports Edition 1.8t Turbo and a BMW 3 Series and realistically they can't touch this car. True sports machine. Want to have fun driving? Buy this car!
Pros: Memory Seats/mirrors/steering wheel
Cons: Lack of 320 engine
Advice: Unless you like a slug, don't buy a C Series wagon until the 320 engine is addedMercedes made a big mistake. My wife and I were all set to buy the 2005 C320S Station Wagon, until we found out MBNA decided not to import the wagon with the 3.2L engine starting with MY2005. The C240 is underpowered in the wagon. So what is that going to mean for the future, same self defeating result. Nobody buys the wagon in the C Series because it's a slug, it quits being offered as part of the model line, MBZ wagon sales drop off because nobody can justify spending $14K more just to get a wagon with a little more space. I just don't understand why they didn't bring the 320 in for MY05 and drop the 2.6L. Everybody who bought a wagon loaded it to the teeth with options. But what did we do instead, bought a 2004 C320 and because we learned of Mercedes' intentions so late in the MY, had to buy one lacking a pile of options we would have added: no phone, no command, no full leather, no active seats, no Xenon's and no Tell Aide (count several thousand $$$ you didn't make in options sales MBZ) because they weren't all available in the car colors we wanted to buy.
