Pros: Handling, Quality, Power, 26 mpg highway@ 80mph
Cons: None
Advice: The car is well engineered with some glitches but nothing major at 23000 miles. It is a luxury vehicle.
I have owned this 2003 E500W Sport for several months. I love the car, however I experienced the bucking problem at xero exceleration at very slow speed reported by others. I have corrected with slight exceleration. Also I believe the computer montering system on board has some glitches. It reports malfunctioning systems which are corrected by turning off the ignition and starting again much the same as a PC. This problem occurs frequently.Pros: power
Cons: electronics and phone
Advice: if you need the electronics skip this car
i own one and have for the last year. it is a great car for the road but i have had more quality problems than any other car i have ever owned. in fact the car is in the shop as i am writing this. on thing that you need to know is that the new MB have lots of computer related issues. the car is over engineered. The worst is the phone. The are lots of claims against MB and i am surprised there is not class action suit it really is that bad. Do not get a phone. the car does drive Great - gas milleage for the highway is running around 26mpg based on about 20k miles. city varies from 10 to 16mpg. the car is smooth on the open road and a dream. as you can tell i have a love hate relationship. would i buy one again. most likely not but this one will be fun for awhile.Pros: the color
Cons: poor handling
Advice: Look carefully at other choices...Mercedes Benz Factory even refused took look at the car.
Ever since I purchased my 2003 E320, they car has 'bucked' at slower speeds, especially with a/c operating. The dealers have tried to remedy the problem with no success. I was told I have to learn how to drive the car. I've had several Mercedes and never had to learn how to drive them. My previous model was a 1998 E320....it was great! This 2003 E320 is very dissappointing and will probably be my last Mercedes. Passengers laugh at how the car handles and can't believe its a Mercedes.Pros: Hard to pick only one but I would say the overall feel of the vehicle.
Cons: Hard to find anything I don't like but the trunk is a little too aggressive when opening. Not a big deal.
Advice: BUY IT. It's definately worth the dollars.
I have owned various Mercedes-Benz models since 1986 and I can honestly say without hesitation the 2003 320E is the finest of them all. The handling is superb. It is very quite and looks like it should cost far more than it does. It's what a Mercedes is all about.Pros: Styling
Cons: the fell of the 'brake by wire' brake pedal
Advice: Don't let the price disuade you. The way you feel driving a Mercedes has no comparision.
Suspension, acceleration and styling are wonderful.
