Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: Solidity of construction
Cons: Premium price
Advice: Covet that which others do not.
Compared to the BMWs, Porsches and Alfas I've driven over the years, this car compares very favorably. With respect to comparable sedans such as 3, 5 and 7 Series Bimmers and the Alfa 156 and 166, this car is more comfortable as it rides like a cloud yet handles with great agility. Tack on excellent quality of construction along with top reputation for safety, you have a winner. There's also a special feeling you get behind the wheel with the three-pointed Mercedes star leading the way in front of you. By the way, every BMW I've owned has had defects right out of the box. This Mercedes has been flawless.Pros: Styling
Cons: I have not found any inefficiencies!
Advice: Buy the 2002, the 2003 is restyled like the C and S class!
The E320 Special Edition is the nicest car I have even driven. It is smooth and luxurious. Do not be mistaken, this is not a baby boomers car, it is perfect for all ages. I am 30 and this car does it all for me!Pros: Computer and rain sensor
Cons: No automatic headlights
Advice: Be sure to bargain, they'll sell it to you for sticker if you let them.
This vehicle manages to combine comfort, power and efficiency. The prior vehicle was a C280. Although a significantly smaller car, I find that the fuel economy is almost identical. But the passing and acceleration power are world's apart. And the transmission is so velvety smooth.Pros: Keyless 'Key' Entry - Security feature/Valet Protection
Cons: Rear Seats do not allow access to the trunk to carry extra long items - EX: My Ice Hockey sticks
Advice: You really need to test drive this vehicle to find out the true performance & engineering features.
I always thought Mercedes Benz vehicles were way overpriced. A friend of mine, who is a Auto Mechanic recommended that I Seriously take a look at the E Class. The major advantage over the competition is the engine has no Timing Belt! Plus it is easier to work on for regular maintenance. With the above in mind, I decided to test drive the E-320 V-6 engine. Without ever taking it for a ride on the Freeway, I knew and could feel the response of the V-6 engine. All the comfort features and then some are found in this Mercedes Class. I always have wanted a Luxury Sedan but have the feel & look of a performance car! This is the complete package. 5 Passenger Luxury Sedan with many technological safety features, such as side window curtain air-bags. The driver has everything he/she needs at their fingertips. The 2003 model will be redesigned, I would wait to see what the changes are going to be. I highly recommend the 2002 Model E-320! It will be my 41st Birthday gift to myself!Pros: Ability to talk to information agent thru the car speakers.
Cons: No automatic headlights.
Advice: Buy it; you'll love it. Others don't come close to the prestige.
We considered ourselves permanent Cadillac owners, but my husband wanted to test drive other luxury cars. We had almost decided on a new Jaguar when my son recommended that we try the Mercedes. That first test drive sold us; the drive, the luxuriious feel, the acceleration, the salesman, the warranty, the service, the safety features -- all were incomparable. Talking to Mercedes Benz information over the speakers in the car was awesome! It made us feel like we were in James Bond's car!Pros: Super smooth drive!
Cons: Holding on to the trunk to close because I don't want to spot the car by putting my hand on the top.
Advice: Buy one it is worth the expense! I love it!!
The acceleration has 'zip'. The gear changes are smooth, barely felt. The music system sounds superb. The look of the car is elegant.
