E550 Convertible (382hp)
Pros: drivability in 'sport' mode
Cons: doors open too wide & there's no 1/2 way detent to stop full swingWith roof closed, car is very quiet at highway speeds. Good performer. Good trunk size for this segment. Roof operation could be quicker & backseat wind deflector should disappear when roof closed. It obstructs rearward vision.
Best vehicle ever
Pros: Overall ride and handling -- and its a great looker also.
Cons: power window button for the driver's side window is awkward to accessHave owned BMW M3 for nine years -- but this M-B is tops in my book. It cruises the highway at 2000 rpm (doing 77 mph) and still has the torque to get up and go higher from there. The ride is firm and reassuring. I'm disappointed that M-B has discontinued making the CLK.
2006 CLK350 Cabriolet
Pros: Black rag top with Capri blue body and stone interior
Cons: wish it was the v8I bought this car used and it is smoother and quieter than any new car I have been in. The lines are beautiful the car accelerates great and I have not had any trouble with it.
Pros: The instrument panel reads out the direction you are heading and the street you are on.
Cons: The navigation system, though very well done, is overpriced at $4k.
Advice: If the CLK you are looking at does not drive like new, find another.Owner 2009 CLK350 Cabriolet 22000 Miles So Far Outstanding in every regard. Fit and finish are superb, elegant in every way. Not as fast as the CLK550, but much faster then what the critics have to say. I would say the ride is much more comfortable then a BMW 3 or 6 series, and the handling for my daily driving is much better then it needs to be. Regarding wear and tear, which was a major concern of mine, all of the leather, glass, top, instrument look as good as new...and I have compared with new.
Pros: Styling, safety features
Cons: Storage space
Advice: Good choise for a classy uniquely styles vehicle..Bought new in 2004. Have driven 44,000 trouble-free miles. Car gets looks everywhere I go, people I don't even know in my local area know my car. I get complements about it's styling waiting on line for coffee! Is fast enough, but not a rocket (the 500 is), seats are very nice. I drive in snow, just change to snow tires. I find it an excellent winter car. Convertable top operation is fast and convienent. Has actually been quite cheap to maintain needing only routine services.
Pros: overall feeling of well being when behind wheel
Cons: i am not a gadget guy and car has many gadgets
Advice: buy buy buyrecently purchased new this 550sl is all that it is advertised to be.excellnt power ,handling and overall supremelly regal.have owned porches, vettes bmw's this is the best.
Pros: The exterior design.
Cons: The seats were not comfortable
Advice: Bypass this vehicleI test drove this vehicle and I was say that I wasn't as impressed as I usually am when I test drive new Mercedes Benz. This car just was not comfortable to drive.
