Advice: Test drive it and buy it.On a whim, I test drove the Mercedes C230 Coupe on Easter Sunday, after seeing that hip, carefree commercial one too many times. Within 2 hours, I drove home in the C230. If you want most of the features of a $70,000 car for under $30,000, the C230 Coupe is an ideal choice. The doors are bank-vault solid, the engine is smooth and powerful, the panorama sunroof a perfect alternative to a convertible. My 5-year-old daughter loves this car and I feel safer, knowing that this sports coupe is equipped with 8 airbags standard. My wife steals it at every opportunity as a welcome contrast to the family wagon, a 1999 Ford Explorer Sport. The ride of the C230 is very smooth thanks to the independent suspension. What you notice immediately is the solid, heavy, sure-footed feel you get behind the wheel. This is controlled, balanced power in a solid chassis. Brakes and handling are not compromised. Acceleration is excellent and even at 100mph, the car is rock steady. The hatchback is ideal for weekend getaways or simple errands around town. Other luxury features abound, such as automatic, light-activated headlights, rain sensors which increase the wiper speed as the rainfall increases, radio controls on the steering wheel, dual-climate controls. Even sitting in traffic is stress-free thanks to the excellent sound-proofing, quality sound system and ventilation system. When freeways or wide streets open up, it's irresistible to hit the accelerator and feel the powerful Kompressor supercharger kick in all 192 horsepower. This is exactly the same engine as the $41,000 SLK230. It looks, drives and feels expensive, but it isn't when compared to other cars in its class. I cannot keep any car longer than 2 years, but the C230 Kompressor has finally tamed my car wander lust for at least the length of its 4 year, 50,000 mile warranty. I owned 6 Saabs before this car and am now a convert to the Mercedes Benz stable. Mercedes took a chance on this radical design and finally opened up their product line to entry level luxury buyers with this attractive price point. Test drive it and buy it. You won't be disappointed.

Advice: For a really sporty look, do the wheel package. At $750, a bargain.What really surprised me was the quickness--and my last car was a Cadillac STS. I'm not saying this little coupe is that fast, but it's surprisingly quick. I think to experience it best you need the 6-speed manual. (In fact, if ever a car was MADE to be a stick, this is it.) The look grows on you, and grows on you. Inside, it just feels classy. I kept thinking, I'm really going to get this car for under $30,000? I better get it before they change their minds. Surprisingly good room in the back seats--not for BIG people--but better than you'd think. My biggest concern came when I looked at the trunk and wondered how I'd get my golf clubs in. But they answered that with the split fold-down seats. The wheel package really adds the finishing touch to the sport feeling.

Advice: Get the sunroof!Other than an occasional hesitation when cold, this car kicks! Despite its small size, the interior room is excellent (although getting in and out is a little tricky for a 6-footer like me). The car has a solid feel and handles precisely and predictably. The ride is firm but smooth. From the side it looks a little Honda-like, but from the front and the rear, it has a distinct look all its own. The panoramic roof is awesome...don't get a C-Coupe without it. Safety features galore, great visibility, also make this car a winner. And the price can't be beat.

Advice: If you can find one of these to test drive you must take advantage of the opportunity.After driving a 330 hp BMW M3 and the Mercedes C32 AMG there was no choice but to buy the C32. It excels in power, handling and luxury categories and has the quality of Mercedes AMG engineering to back it. I have owned the 240 HP BMW M3, the 300 hp Lexus GS400 and now own the C32 AMG. This is truly the best of the breed.
