2016 Mazda All-Wheel-Drive Demo on Ice – Video

Our car guy, Aaron Gold, braved the chill of Crested Butte, Colorado to drive in the first-ever Mazda Ice Academy to demonstrate Mazda's new drive system - the i-ACTIVE AWD. With the introduction of the new 2016 Mazda CX-3 and CX-5, Mazda set out to show just how good its all-new all-wheel-drive system really is.

The Mazda i-ACTIV AWD set-up consists of a few new drivetrain components that work in conjunction with some of Mazda's existing sensors that seemlessly step in to help in inclement weather conditions. The best part is that, in the snow, vehicles equipped with the i-ACTIV AWD system are even more fuel-efficient than Mazda's front-wheel-drive counterparts.
