I love this car
Pros: the look and feel of the car
Cons: nothing
no major problems at all.Pros: Willing engine (V6) and comfortable seats.
Cons: Paint quality.
Advice: Take a few test drives - vary the type of roads and have a blast!
I fell in love with my '6 GT Sportwagon the first time I drove it. I find the power is seamless and has just the right edge to the exhaust when you boot it! The seats are the best I've sat in and there's just enough head room (I'm 6'2'). My bus is fully loaded and I like the extra security from the side airbags and recommend this option. Handling is great, with prodigious grip from the standard tires. Keep an eye on the speedo...! However, within a few weeks of purchase I had rust/ discoloration at a number of spot welds in the rear hatch areas and it developed a camshaft knock when warm (Mazda have a service bulletin regarding this). Another irritation is a slipstream 'wind-thump' that is most intrusive at speed with the rear windows down, its almost painful for rear seat passengers. Would I change it?..... No chance!. It's the most fun on four wheels this hard core biker could have!Pros: The cars handling.
Cons: A bit too much of Ford's influence on the interior.
Advice: Get the V-6 with the manual transmission.
If you want a 4 door that handles and stops good, this is a good choice. Especially with the manual tranny. It is a bit down on power and more important, torque, but I am willing to put up with that because of it’s handling. I got pretty much everything I wanted with this car that I couldn’t get with the Nissan’s and Honda’s at the time.Pros: The Drive
Cons: Cheap interior materials
Advice: Opt for the V6
I have had the car for 1 year and a half and I still enjoy driving it as much as the first day i got it! Handles great and comfortable suspension for long hauls. I like the fact that it does not look like the average boring family sedan (ex. Accord. The V6 has a sexy growl when pushed. The seats are extremely supportive and at 6 foot 3 it is very easy to find a great driving position. Not all is perfect though, the v6 has disappointing fuel mileage and interior materials easily scratch which is really annoying. Other than these two negatives this car is great!! For any one who wants to have fun while they are driving alone or with the family I strongly recomend test driving this car.Pros: red illuminescent interior
Cons: ingress egress of the drivers seat
Advice: I'm 42 years old and have owned alot of cars and I fully recommend the 6s
I've owned my Mazda6s for 3 months now and couldn't be happier. The six cylinder engine is smooth and refined with plenty of punch especially in the 30-40 mph range. If you haven't kicked it in the pants at that range you don't know what your missing, and that's with the 5-speed auto! That gas mileage has been schuffling between 20-24 around town, which in Houston traffic is awesome. The suspension and handling are top notch for this price range and HAVAC and stereo are suburb. I think I made a great choice with this car!Pros: The fit and finish compete with cars costing much more.
Cons: When my wife is driving it and not me.
Advice: The Mazda6 is a wonderful car. You will not be disappointed in purchasing one.
I opted for the 6 cylinder model for it’s for quick acceleration and I love the sports car feel of the 5 speed manual in mine. I purchased this car new 18 months ago and it has never needed service beyond oil changes. It is the best car I have ever owned. Mazda has done a great job with styling, performance and reliability.Pros: The handling and the cavernous cargo space...someone could get lost back there!
Cons: The Black cloth interior is a little cheesy
Advice: Buying an 04? Go for the ABS package with Traction Control, it's standard in all 05s now. It handles better and you'll save on insurance
Funny story! After several (3) attempts at purchasing a problem free used vehicle (01 Passat, 01 Infiniti 130, 03 Honda Accord) at Carmax...they gave me a loaner vehicle (an 04 Mazda 6i) until they could retrieve my 99 VW Passat trade from another Carmax store. At first glance, I hated the exterior but after feeling the power and handling, I really like it. 3 days later, I took the Carmax Mazda back and bought a brand new 6s sport from a Mazda dealer with the 3.0L V6 engine, Bose sound sys w/6 CD changer, moonroof, power everything! I love it and I got a really nice deal on it!
