The Mazda CX-9 is a four door seven passenger crossover utility vehicle powered by a 3.7 Liter V6 that produces 273 HP and 270 lb-ft of torque being channeled through an electronically controlled six speed manual with Sport modes and is good for an estimated 17 MPG in the city and up to 24 MPG on the highway.  Available in three trim levels: Sport, Touring and Grand Touring; the CX-9 is available in either front wheel drive or Mazda’s Active Torque Split All Wheel Drive and comes with both front and side curtain airbags standard.

The entry level Mazda CX-9 Sport comes well equipped with a six speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input jacks and Sirius XM Satellite radio compatibility, cloth seating with a leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob as well as piano black trim pieces highlighted with silver accents.  The $29,725 CX-9 Sport also offers available Bluetooth hands free telephone capabilities as well as an optional heated eight way power adjustable driver’s seat.  On the outside the base CX-9 rides on a set of 18 inch wheels and comes with color matching door handles, a dual exhaust, roof mounted spoiler and fashionable LED taillights.

The next step up in Mazda’s full size crossover family is the CX-9 Touring, equipped with amenities like leather upholstery as well as a pair of power adjustable front buckets and rear lift gate standard.  Optional items for the $31,645 CX-9 include a power moonroof, back up camera, keyless entry and Bluetooth hands free audio streaming capabilities as well as an upgraded 10 speaker Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound System.

Meanwhile Mazda’s the top of the line CX-9 Grand Touring gets power side mirrors with integrated turn signals as well as chrome door handles and a set of 20 inch rims to distinguish itself from lesser models in the lineup.  The $33,735 grand tourer also comes with Mazda’s Advanced Keyless Entry and push button starter as well as electroluminescent gauges, second row center armrest with storage and cup holders and wood tone trim with dark silver accents.  Optional items include a seven inch color navigation display and the 11 speaker Bose Centerpoint 5.1 Surround Sound System with a nine inch rear entertainment system and DVD player with built in power outlet and external video input, perfect for video games consoles and long quiet road trips.

A list of cars similar to the CX-9 include the 2012 Honda Pilot, 2012 Dodge Journey and 2012 Chevrolet Traverse.
