2005 Lexus GX 470 - Base

The all new Lexus GX 470 is the top of the line car that is well low the price that it's actually worth. While going off roading this Lexus was able to go throw about 30 -40' of water with no problem. The gas mileage was great while driving through colorado. The aveage was 21.1mpg with 17.8 city and 25.5 on the high way. The comfort of this vehicle is great and thrid row seats are a must have and not all to cramped as reported and can fit an adult.In all cars i tested against Porshce, Audi even Mercedes and LIncoln bothing came close to considering then Lexus. -

Advice: Test drive on highway at 60to 65 mph and hold for a while, will notice vibration
Overall the car is great, but have been experiencing steering wheel vibrations at around 60 to 65 mph. Took in for balancing and service , dealer cannot find solution , and poor service from dealer experience. Dealer has agreed to give me a new car as the problem is consistent. Test drove 4 new vehicles of same model and all four have the same exact vibration at 60 to 65 mph. This is a natural defect in this car n Lexus of North America is not responding to back up their quality. Would not recommend this vehicle to anyone. -
2003 Lexus GX 470 - Base
Pros: Easy navigation system and the Mark Levinson sound system is excellent.
Cons: Cargo door should open upward. Vehicle does not have a hook to hang your drycleaning (small complaint - but for $50,000??). Passenger seat is power but limited number of adjustments. No Xenon lights.
Advice: Wait for the 2004's to come out - I heard there will be the rear view back-up camera like the RX330.
The LX470 is the best handling vehicle I have ever owned. I traded in my Hummer H2 and have not regretted it for a minute! Smooth ride on the highway and great handling around town. I have been averaging over 19mpg on the highway which is better than the window sticker. -

Advice: Make sure you get a great deal, they are out there!
Upside: Very very smooth and quiet ride. Handles like a luxury car, but every inch a Sport-ute. Accelerates without effort. Very luscious leather seating and handsome wood trimming. Downside: Limited back space especially with the 3rd seat option. Back seats are not as comfortable. I watched the folded seats get stucked after opening the 3rd seat row at the dealers. -

This is absolutley the quietest SUV I have ever driven. Even for Lexus this vehicle is exceptionally quiet. Comfort and luxury is ample with no body roll. I don't know how Lexus does it but this vehicle has a way of erasing the road. I must say you should watch out for the power under the hood! It's very easy to exceed the speed limit with this much power and quietness in one package.
