its a great car
My seventh Lexus and the best so far!
Great car. No issues over 6 years of ownership, only basic maintenance. Great performance.
Pros: Audio screens with nav.
Cons: Nav. voice recognition
Quite, solid, smooth, responsive steering and engine. Cabin is comfortable and well appointed. Lot's of standard features that you could only get in a package on another car. On the highway it truly drives itself.Great car, not so great transmission
Pros: Comfort
Cons: Transmission
I really love this car, but replacing a transmission at 80000 miles is unacceptable in a vehicle in this price range.Great Hybrid drive!!
Pros: The hybrid drive.
Cons: The ride and the visibility.
I love the hybrid drive. I average 32.4 over 6500 mi. On one trip averaged 39.4 for 424 mi. But the interior is cramped and it has a lot of blind spots. The ride is overly harsh for a Lexus in this price range.Great with some flaws
Pros: User control simplicity & value
Cons: Driver door noise & lack of driver seat adjustments
I have owned many Lexus cars including 3 LS models. I love the value & simplicity of controls compared to the Germans. I have 2 complaints about this car. First, the driver's side door makes a noise over sudden bumps. The dealership could not fix it & acknowledged it is a design issue, one I find unacceptable in a $70,000 car. Second, the drivers seat does not adjust up enough at the front of the seat cushion. I find it difficult to get the thigh support I want. Again, in a $70,000, you should be able to adjust every section of the seat to a comfortable position. I have the same issue with my son's Hyundai, but that car cost $15,000. Other than that, adjustable suspension & steering effort would be a nice touch in this class car. Creature features & user friendly controls are a plus. The car also costs $20,000 to $30,000 less than a comparably equipped BMW 7, Mercedes S or Audi 8.
