Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: The shape of the SUV.
Cons: The shell of the SUV, poor craftmanship.
Advice: Buy another car, it's not worth the price.
The vehicle is noisy on the highway, the sunroof rattles and the transmission is very poor. I have found myself sitting in the middle of the road because it decided to stop right there and not restart. The plastic shell has the poorest paint job, resulting in multiple chips in the body work. You can use a cardboard to cut right through the paint. The windshield washer dispenser freezes in cold weather. It scared me stiff once when I found myself on the highway with nothing to clean salt water splashes of passing motorists off my windshield. I had to feel my way to my destination even though I was in a warm car.Pros: I cant recall one
Cons: The quaility of the vehicle and construction materials
Advice: To drive a Volvo XC90 and pull them side by side and do your own comparison! BMW make great cars but they do not have the SUV figured out yet, its been a long time too.
It shows that Lexus has taken a turn towards their beginning in the USA, they are having us pay for their poor economy with inferior workmanship and lower quaility product. The Lexus RX330 is placed on a Camary frame with flashy interior wood inlays and just plain poor quality over the life of the car. Its body, frame and parts are not rugged and sturdy (look under the vehicle for yourself) Driving it allowed allot of exterior road noise into the vehicle. I am at 6000 feet of altitude and the motor had to stain with high RPMS to accomplish a hill. First impreesion is flashy but look beyond, I talked with several mechanics and just to do a brake job will cost you $1,200.00 (non dealer) every 20k to 25k. Its not a Lexus that we all know! Bottom line the vehicle is worth about 27K not 41K ! It a glorified Camary with a bug shell.Pros: Smooth side
Cons: I like all
Advice: excellent SUV
Excellent drive and very smooth. I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a luxury SUV..Pros: Navigation with Rear camera
Cons: N/A
Advice: Just Go for it.
I can proudly say that I have made the right decision. I was about to buy X5 but before closing the deal on it I went to Lexus dealer and man o man I just loved the ride of it. I have the Performance package in my RX and it is just great to have. One of the cool feature of Perfomance package is the adjustment of the vehicle height with speed, the height automaticaaly goes down when the speed is over 80MPH.........(BTW I don't drive that fast, I was checking whether that feature really works or not..... lol)Pros: Navigation w/rear camera
Cons: Lack of Customer Service
Advice: Ask people who own one if they like the dealership, you wont get any help from Lexus Headquarters if something goes wrong!!
This is my 2nd RX and I love it. I previously had an RX300 but wanted the navigation system so I traded it for the 330. The car itself has been great; absolutely no problems. The poor rating comes from customer service or the lack of. Lexus has much to learn about satisfying their customers when things dont go right. Prior to closing the sale they promise you the best customer service offered, but after the sale you'd think you had bought a used Hyundai. The dealership, a certain royal one in Ontario Ca, was less than satisfactory as was Lexus Headquarters when calling or writing to them. While I do get great service from Oakland Lexus now, the whole experience has left me a bit sour on getting a third Lexus.Pros: Power hatch
Cons: Can't even thik of a thing that I don't like
Advice: This car is not to disappoint in quality and luxury--near perfection.
Very powerful! Way more power than I expected from this sport utility. Terribly expensive, but I found the right car for the right pice. Lexus doesn't let you have much below MSRP they won't deal on theses cars. I love this car so much after I bought it I thought for a moment that I could have paid full MSRP for this car and it would have been worth it!Pros: Plenty of space, safety, luxury.
Cons: Transmission 'spins' briefly before shifting into the next gear.
Advice: Try it, you'll like it!
The car is very comfortable and luxurious. There is very little engine noise and the road noise is not bad. It handles very well in the snow and slippery conditions. The turning radius is good but not great. There is plenty of space in all compartments and it is easy to lower all or part of the back seats and they lie flat with the rest of the rear storage area. The navigation unit works well and the rear camera is helpful. The Levinson sound system is very good and I like the convenience of the six-CD player loading from the dash. The engine has plenty of power, but the mileage is not great - about 16 mph in the city and 22 on the highway. Plenty of leg and head room. Seats are very comfortable and the wood and leather steering wheel is classy and comfortable. The power liftgate is a nice convenience. The front wipers cover the largest area on the windshield I have ever experienced. The navigation system is nice but a bit complicated to learn - it comes with its own 150 page book.
