New things are coming from the Japanese luxury auto manufacturer Lexus as the brand tries to shake up its image. Among the latest models to join the lineup is the Lexus RC 350, which is a sports car that's been purpose-built from the ground up, offering practicality and upscale enjoyment along with its performance capabilities. Autobytel’s T.J. Keon got the scoop at the Lexus booth at at the 2014 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. T.J. talked to Paul Williamson from Lexus International to find out what makes the RC 350 different from the other Lexus performance models on display at the show. The Lexus RC 350 is a sleek coupe that’s powered by a V6 engine that produces 306 horsepower, and it features the Lexus F SPORT package to help it perform on track. The example seen here was built specifically for the 2014 SEMA show. Another Lexus on display, a white coupe with holographic decals, is an RC F GT3 making its North American debut. This Lexus, powered by a 5-liter V8 engine, was built specifically for international racing, and was designed to help the brand compete with race cars from manufacturers such as Porsche, Lotus, and Bentley. With these cars at the 2014 SEMA show, Lexus hopes to build global motorsports credibility.
