Quality Not There
Pros: The smooth V-6 power train
Cons: Brake dust on the front wheels
Small and large things just not right in this car. Small things like the decal above the cd/disc opening that peels off. Small sqeaks and rattles you wouldn't expect in a $40k car. Then there are the large things like the front brake rotors that are supposed to be replaced every 30K miles that cost $700 each time. That helped to drive up the cost of the normal 30k mile maintenance to $1700 and that was just normal maintenance, nothing wrong with the car. It's very expensive to be in the Lexus 'club.' Then there's the problem with the brake dust that collects on the front wheels. Literally, the worst I have ever seen in any car in my life. Clean wheels would get filthy black in just a few days of normal driving. And the brake dust was caustic and ate away at the expensive alloy wheels. The front wheels are ruined from an appearance standpoint, no amount of polish and rubbing can bring them back. When I tried to address these problems with both the dealership where we bought the car, and with Toyota, they would not return my phone calls or emails. It would seem I fell into the 'disgruntled/no-win' customer category. The car is too expensive and new to just get rid of. At my own expense, I changed the front disc pads to an aftermarket composite material that solved the brake dust problem. I have a good local auto repair place that will do all maintenance so the car will never go back to the dealership. The brake rotors will not be replaced unless they cannot be turned in order to get back in tolerance. Finding ways to live with a car that was supposed to be a pleasure. Oh, and one last jab, the $2k nave system is the very complex and hard to operate. A $100 Garmin works much better.Love that car
Pros: Comfort
Cons: side mirrors are major blind spots for turning
The car is very stylish, sporty looking. It drives comfortably and it's very easy to manuever. Love it.Pros: AWD
Cons: Needs more space in the backseat
Advice: 250 AWD w/ Navi cant go wrong
This car is very smooth. Can't go wrong with the AWD. Spacing in the back is snug....but other than that.....car is amazing.Pros: Navigation
Cons: back seat leg room. Sorry Friends
Advice: I own the awd 250. The smaller engine is perfectly fast enough that you really don't need the 350 bigger engine.
So Smooth. Handles excellently. Beautiful car to look at and feels so fresh.
