Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
We’ve owned this car for 10 years now and I’m still amazed how long the original set of the brakes lasted over 6~7 years, over 50K miles. The car is practically maintenance free other than routine services. One of the most reliable car’s I’ve ever owned.
Pros: All of it. Exterior and Interior Design.
Cons: I don't care much for the wood trim especially the trim on the steering wheel. If I had to change one thing that would be it. I like the trim on the Acura TL - no wood trim.
Advice: The 2006 GS300 is going below invoice. However, I am perplexed at the invoice price plus options on this website ($1000 lower) compared to the $42,924 invoice price I received from internet sales. By the way, take another $700 off. $42,224 + tax & lic.
I've test driven the GS 300 about 4 times, and like all other reviews I've read from other websites, it's true, performance is not the GS 300 strongest virtue. It is more of a luxury car if anything. However, I do like the soft and quiet ride and it does handle more like a sedan than a sports sedan as it claims to be. Comparing this to my BMW X5 with a 3.0L engine 225HP versus the GS300 with 3.0L at 245HP, I think I can adapt to the performance since I am content with the performance I get from my BMW X5. I am so glad to get rid of my X5 - too much electrical problems. Looking foward to the Lexus, a more reliable, dependable, and easy on the pocket book in terms of maintenance and repairs cost; at least that's what I heard.Pros: the overall quality!
Cons: trunk a little small
Advice: top quality car
Great car, have had it for 6 months and still a thrill. Build and material quality is outstanding, with a wonderfully smooth and refined ride, along with good power/acceleration. Getting 29-30 mpg on the highway, and 25-26 mpg around town with premium OR mid-grade fuel.Pros: Navigation system
Cons: Stereo system
Advice: Spend the money on the upgraded stereo system. I had it is an option on my other GS, and can't be in the 2006 model without missing it! I truly regret not custom ordering the car.
No commentPros: Design, Quality
Cons: I would want more adjustment in the seats
Advice: Get the vented seats - worth the $200
Smooth, refined, beautiful. The lines of the vehicle resemble the new Mercedes CLS. Plus, the legendary Lexus quality. I am planning to trade in my 2002 Jag.Pros: Safety , Power, Extras
Cons: ---- nothing
Advice: BUY IT !! GS AWD!or V8 430
Simply Amazing, forget about the E-Class & 5 Series and A6!. If you buy this car GS AWD with the Package that costs around $5,400 Car is about $52,000 FULLY FULLY LOADED. An E350 4 matic Mercedes with all the same extras (lexus has a few extras that are unhear of right now that are amazing e.g knee airbags) it will run you $70,000 ITS A CLEAR CHOICE !! THE GS IS NUMERO UNO !!!!!Pros: quality
Cons: handling
Advice: Nice car if you have no interest in sports cars.
Great car to be driven in heavy traffic. It's quiet, great ride, comfortable seats and quality materials. On a winding road it instills no confidence. The car leans excessively, has tire squeal and vague steering. Interstate driving is OK but the numb steering makes it less enjoyable.
