Eight-Speed Automatic Transmission For The GS 350 Is The Big Story
Lexus only introduced the mildly-revised GS for the 2013 model year, but it's making some big changes for the 2014 model.
The big news is with the GS 350. For 2014, it trades the six-speed automatic transmission for an eight-speed automatic transmission. This will improve performance and fuel economy. Note this is for the rear-drive model only, the all-wheel drive model will stick with the six-speed automatic.
Other changes in store for the 2014 GS 350 and GS 450h include the addition of Apple's Siri Eyes Free mode which allows users of the iPhone 4S (and up) to access Siri on their phone to get directions, play music, set reminders, and more. Both models will also get a new color heads-up display and the option of blind spot warning with Rear Cross Traffic alert and power folding mirrors.
The Luxury Package for the two models also sees some additions with LED fog lights and a “Superchrome” finish on the eighteen-inch wheels.
