Pros: The comfort
Cons: Too little head room for my spouse.
Advice: Drive it and you're sold!!Best I have bought, esp. for the price! SO smooth and easy to drive. Love the sound system and luxury feel. Solid feel as well. My husband who is 6'0 ft tall, feels it's a bit of a pain as far as head room goes (esp. getting in and out), and so does my tall teenager--- but it is a wonderful vehicle that I plan on keeping for at least 10 yrs, and the price is WONDERFUL when compared to the other vehicles you would pay the same amt. for. LOVE it!!
Pros: Manual shift in mountain driving
Cons: Air conditioning system is inadequate in 90+ degree weather
Advice: High maintenance - buy a Honda or ToyotaHandling and the solid feel of the vechicle is much better than others. Reliability is not that good. Brakes only last 10K to 15K miles.
Pros: Off road ability
Cons: Where do I start?
Advice: Be careful...Sorry folks...I thought I had found the vehicle for me, but I have been burdened with so many problems, that I'm seriously considering getting rid of my Freelander. Where do I start...2 burnt headlamps, new transmission, new air fan, squeeky steering wheel and worn out brakes (all in a year and a half). The service in Calgary is great, but the product is very questionable. I can't say it's worth the price. I'm in Canada and don't have a US zip code.
Pros: Real off road capability with a luxury car ride.
Cons: Cup holders are il-placed
Advice: Don't believe the sales folks at the other dealerships. Actually look up the service bulletins and complaints at the NHTSA. The Land Rover is proven better.Real off road capability with a european car ride. The average SUV on the road today is nothing more than a taller station wagon, i.e., Toyota anything. This vehicle on the other hand is a real off roader that has been given the luxuries of a nice car.
Cons: Lack of pickup
Advice: ask about the cash purchase discountBest vehicle for Michigan snow - better than other 4wd cars. Stability control makes for an effortless drive out of early morning snow covered roads. My favorite car ever - looks good, drives good, good handler. The only negative is the initial head bumping upon entry, but you learn to put your head in first, the rest of the experience is tops.
Pros: Apperance and its a REAL offroading vehicle
Cons: Hard shifting when acclerating
Advice: If you want a fast sports car drive, pick a different carThis is my first car of my own and it is a truley fantastic car. The styling is beautiful but the interior on the base Freelander is too standard for a luxury SUV. But these cars can handle everyday driving but they really love off-roading. This SUV can handle all the bumps and twists in the road except it takes a while to get up to higher speeds.
Pros: the sound system upgrade is a nice option - heated front windshield is awesome
Cons: poor heating and air conditioning system
Advice: shop around - check JD Power website for manufacturer's CSI ratingsmooth, quiet ride. ample power. so-so fuel economy. silky-smooth transmission. decent handling for and SUV. capable in rain, snow, and mild off-road conditions
