Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: The hatch and the available features with the roof rack. The colour, Rally Blue
Cons: The automatic
Advice: Get the Rio Cinco. Small car with loads of room.I wasn't too thrilled with the automatic. It had no power. The 5 speed has excellent power and great control.
Pros: Sitting higher in the drive seat than most vehicles
Cons: drive seat belt buckle needs to be further out, or more flexible for comfort.
Advice: Do it ! It's a great car.Wonderful, Not a whole lot of power. But with downshifting, it has all the power of my old vehicle. A little learning and technique is all it takes !
Pros: My favorite feature is attachments for the car seats they make me feel safer about my children being strapped in!
Cons: The only thing I don't like is my car is not equipt with cruise control but it is not an absolute necessity
Advice: Talk to your dealer about what YOU want not what they want to sell you....They actually do listen to you and meet your requirments! The day I test drove a Kia Rio was the same day I bought one. I loved the way it looked and the way it handled on the road. Not only did it look sporty and have the exact amount of room I was looking for but it was also right in my price range that I was looking on spending on a used car! The dealership also worked with me and gave me an excellent deal within my tight budget. This car is great for anyone with a small family looking to find an affordable reliable vehicle.
Pros: Hatch Back
Advice: Know how it performs in all kinds of weather by carefully testing it under conditions you know you will drive under, Wet/Dry/SnowHandling of Automatic Rio Cinco is very loose. Breaking on wet rodes difficult.............Tires do not grab dry surface well either
Pros: The easy to use controls
Cons: Acceleration is measured with a calender
Advice: The warranty makes the car bullet proofThe Rio Cinco is a comfortable car to drive. The front seats are very good for a car of this class. The front compartment is very roomy. There is space to haul stuff and the standard cargo cover is good at Christmas time. The A/C is powerful, the CD is good, the overall ride is good.
Pros: The sound of the CD player ROCKS!
Cons: No cruise control. Wish I had it.
Advice: It's not a bad machine for the price at all; great warranty! My 2002 Rio is my baby, but like other reviewers have said, you get what you pay for. It drives down the highway so smoothly, you really do have to watch your speed. A shopping cart hit my side front, left a dent which indicated VERY light guage shell. Not much pick-up. My brother got 2003 Rio, transmission broke down on hi-way after only 2 days. It's a machine, not great but by far, not bad. It's a cute car.
Pros: The hatchback
Cons: the 92 hp engine and the way the car is not reliable also no cruise control
Advice: upgrade to the spectra or elantra if you have the doughI bought a 2002 Kia rio cinco. When I test drove it, i loved the car. It had the hatchback so you could fit a ton of stuff in it, and it handled nicely. However, the car does not have any pick up- which isn't such a big deal, unless you are going up hill, and it has been back and forth to the dealer since i got it. Since I bought this car, it has broken down on me twice. I have had the starter replaced, the baterry replaced, and even a new steering column. The ABS constantly squeal and make funny noises when i stop. Parts break off of this car very easily. Well, at least it is under warranty. Overall, it is an ok car, i just wish it was made better. Be careful, you get what you pay for...
