The up and down nature of sales was very much on display at BMW of North America during the month of June. The company reported June sales of 35,577 vehicles, an increase of 5.7 percent, but a closer look at how each brand fared itself paints quites a different story.

At BMW, sales increased 11.5 percent to 30,201 vehicles for June. The 3/4 Series led the way with 11,543 units sold, an increase of 5.3 percent. Big gainers for the month included the X6, which posted a 94.8 percent increase, and the 7-Series, which saw an 81.1 percent increase.

“The June and first-half results prove again that customer demand is solid and stronger than many have thought and we fully expect confidence and demand to stay strong through the end of the year,” said Ludwig Willisch, President and CEO, BMW of North America. “I am particularly pleased with the results for our 2 and 4 Series models; these are driving machines at the core of the BMW brand.”

MINI's downward sales trend continued into June as they posted sales of 5,376 units, down 18.2 percent. All of MINI's lineup posted declines ranging from 2.5 percent for the Cooper Hardtop to 71 percent for the Coupe.
