2008 Grand Cherokee S Limited Diesel
Pros: 3.0 Mercedes Diesel
Cons: 5 speed auto. Should have a taller 5th or 6th gear aded
Jeep has finally done it and produced a high quality vehicle that is awesome on and off road with outstanding fuel economy for an SUV. I have owned Grand Cherokees since they were introduced in 1993 and while I liked them overall they suffered from poor fuel economy and questionable reliability. In fact I switched over to a BMW X5 in 2003 because of reliability issues. This new Jeep which is unchanged from 2008-2010 offers all the performance, comfort, reliability, and fuel economy one could ask for. It tows my 5000 lb boat easily. Fuel economy is in the 25 mpg range. There has been no servicing outside of regular maintenance. The 3.0 Mercedes diesel is a joy. No black smoke or noise previously associated with diesels and about 50% better fuel economy. This is a go anywhere do anything vehicle. I am extremely disappointed there there is no diesel offered for the new 2011 model.7/8/2008 7:23:53 PM
Pros: Comfort
Cons: Chrome Clad rims?
Advice: Step up to the V-8
This is my 3rd GC, my first V-8, averaged 17.4 mpg on my V-6/ 16.8 on the V-8. I drive 30,000+ miles a year. This is a great vechicle.Good power, comfort and reliability. Safety is the best/ my 2004 got hit by a semi doing 55mph and I walked away.5/26/2008 3:55:53 PM
Pros: Backup Camera & backup warning system.
Cons: Too many controls located on 2 levers mounted on steering column.
Advice: The only draw-back to this vehicle is the low gas milage.
Vehicle handles wonderfully. Gas milage is rather low.Enter a valid ZIP Code
