This is my 4th Grand Cherokee (a '95, '99, my wife's '04) so I guess I would be a fairly decent authority on the subject. This is by far the best built GC ever. Much quieter than previous models and a whole lot smoother. The Hemi is a must if you can afford it and the Navigation feature with the Satellite radio and U-Connect are totally futuristic conveniences. Gas mileage is tough (around 15 mpg average) but in return you get silky smooth acceleration. Go for premium fuel, though, as you can definitely tell the difference between that and regular. The seats are very comfortable. I got mine for around $5k off the sticker retail ($3.5k rebates, $1k Chrysler financing, $500 military discount) so the price was right too. Overall, I got a lot more car for the money than a comparable import. -

Cons: The reduced head room
Advice: Buy the read thing, get the Grand.
The first thing I noticed on my test drive was how smooth the Hemi was and then how it took off like my old RoadRunner. The ride is much improved over the first two Grand designs. I loved the new seats, someone heard our pleas for a better seat. I test drove almost every 4X4 on the market and after my test drive I ordered a Grand with the features I wanted. -

Just bought the 05 GC and we absolutely love it; its powerful and rugged (i cna take it wherever whenever i want) but its also smooth enough for my wife (she didn't like driving the expedition)
