Pros: automatic four wheel drive
Cons: nothing
nice vehicle good ride excellent in snowPros: The Rocky Mountain Package
Cons: The service department where I bought it.
Advice: Drive it!
This 2005 Rocky Mountain Edition is my second Grand Cherokee, and both have been Chrysler Certified Used Vehicles. Both have been excellent, but the 2005 is exceptional. Mine has the 3.7 V-6, which I consider adequate, performance wise, with economy that exceeds Jeep's estimate. The ride is smoother and quieter than my 2001, and the Rocky Mountain package gave me even more optional equipment than I'd even considered getting. The Chrysler Certified Warranty is actually better than the new warranty. My son-in-law has a Limited with a Hemi, but he was impressed with the power my 3.7 has. I highly reccommend this vehicle.Pros: Sirrius Radio - U connect phone - solid responsive feel while driving
Cons: low speed feel of engine going up hills
Advice: get all of the toys and creature comforts and you're still lower in price than many bas models
I wasn't planning to buy a jeep. Never owned one before and test drove a GC in 2001 when I got my Toyota Highlander. I found the GC seats uncomfortable and the freeway noise too loud. Went into the Chrysler dealer to look at the Pacifica and found it too mini vanish for me. Saleperson suggested the Jeep. I was reluctant, but said I would try it. I was surprised how much I liked it. It has a solid feel and good manners on the road. It feels like a luxury car. Never had a true trail rated jeep befrore so now I am very anxious to try it off road in the mountains and deserts. I was considering an X5 and an LR3 but found the value of the Jeep to be unbeatable while giving me the feel of a luxury car (although the materials are not as good as the X5) and better gas milage than the LR3. I highly reccomend this SUV.Pros: Hemi and overall ride comfort
Cons: Wood-grain (or contact paper) should be placed on the bottom of drawer never to be seen again...back seat room is still not adequate for an adult, in my opinion
Advice: Get most of the creature features...you will not be sorry
Yea...I got the Hemi with most of the creature features. This is my 3rd Grand Cherokee, and it is by far the best. With the MDS, I got 19 mpg on the highway over approximately 500 miles. It blows the doors off any other SUV if you stand on it. The front seats are much improved over the previous models. The creature features like the automatic wipers and headlights (including high/low beams) are wonderful and impressive...if it rains, they come on...if it dark, the high beams come on and off with a light sensor camera behing the rear view mirror. The weeble effect has been eliminated with the electronic stablization system and the ride is excellent. I am very pleased with the hemi and limited model and look forward to deep snow and mud test here in MichiganPros: The ride.
Cons: Lack of headroom
Advice: Be sure to take a test drive. I don't think this car is for everyone.
It beat the socks off my 2001 Grand Cherokee in all respects. Better handling, more comfortable ride, more power (thanks to the Hemi). But the styling and lack of front seat headroom take some getting used to. Also, I have some difficulty getting in the car. I'm a big guy (6'2', 260lbs.) and getting in the seat is not as easy as my 2001. However, once in, I find the seats to be very comfortable and suportive. Also, the seat does not go down far enough, which leaves me perched a little higher than my 2001.Pros: The new suspension - no more head bob
Cons: The CHEAPNESS of chrysler - no pouch on passenger side , no auto down for passenger side, lots of cheap plastic too - for 40K I expecteed better
Advice: Get it - the closest comp is the toureg V8 and its going for at LEAST 10k more if not 15k
Never test drove this one. I have had a wrangler 4.0 and a JGC LTd 4.7L Quadradrive. Biggest Improvements - the interior, the suspension and some new style of engine - I forgot .... oh yeah HEMI.... Ferociously fast. This 4x4 will pin you in your seat if you use the autostick properly - very , very powerfull compared to the 4.7. Considering this truck (5.7 with Quadradrive II) is 600 lbs more - thats even more impressive.Pros: Handling/suspension and of course some engine called a 'Hemi' hmmmm never heard of it
Cons: feeling sorry for Ford Explorer and Nissan Pathfinder owners who want true 4x4s
Advice: The 4.7 has NO MDS - this vehicle weighs 500 lbs more - you do the math. Get that Hemi....
Had a 95 Wrangler & 2002Grand Cherokee LTD. Didnt even test drive this one. The MDS sold me - was gonna get the Lr3 but its hummer like gas mileage scared me off. Love the interior. Love the Hemi. I drive up to Albany about 160 miles. WIth the 02 JGC I burned off half a tank. With this one - I burned off half a tank. Very nice - pleasant suprise. The Boston Accoustic sound system is awesome and I really like the exterior - its mean and menacing - esp from the side. But the new suspension really allows me to drive this one like my M3 when I come across irritants who want to disrespect. Very nice car for Manhattan Urban driving - as well as suburban trails.....the Quadradrive II is simply the most advanced on the road today - surpassing even the big daddy range rover
