2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, My Best Car
Pros: Control on the back of the steering wheel
Cons: Rotors that always warp due to poor design
In my life I have owned 13 cars and driven many more. The joy of my life is my current 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. It is the best car I have ever owned and that includes three Toyota's and 4 GM vehicles. I love the sound system and the volume control perfectly placed on the back of the steering wheel. The in-line 6 cylinder (my ideal for the perfect motor) is just right in size and I have never found a more stable engine although fuel economy could be better. At idle it is rock steady and the selectable 2 wheel - 4 Hi & 4 Lo transmission is fantastic. Mine now has 133,000+ original miles and is still going very strong. All that said it too has its disappointments. Like the known fault in the front rotors which constantly warp or transmission and transfer case issues. I replaced the rotors 3 times and the last time was with slotted rotors and ceramic pads! Parts are not cheap either. But compared to some foreign cars - its a situation I can live with. This is a wonderful vehicle. It is down to earth and classy at the same time. It is durable and won't dent just because somebody looked at the fender in the grocery store parking lot. Should I ever need another vehicle I will check out Jeep first.Enter a valid ZIP Code
