Cons: Navigation system
Advice: Shop aroundIt drives nice, but the quality of the interior functions is not very good. The air conditioning is constantly on the fritz, there is a whistling sound on the driver's side that the dealer is mystified about, the navigation system is terribly difficult to use compared to other manufacturers (no push-button screens, you have to scroll through the alphabet, etc.) and is not dependable to bring you to the right place (wrong side of the street two blocks away from destination).
Pros: sunroof passanger
Advice: just because one person had a bad experience with their vehicle, does not mean all commanders are the same.cant complaint! Turned out to be a very good suv. I have drove through thick snow, high water, rough terrain and yet to experience any troubles.
Pros: 0 place of water intake
Advice: do notwe b ought a jeep commander 2007 2/15.nice truck 1st recall was for the rear brakes, then on 3/3/07 rain water comming in from grip handels on right and left front of truck have pictures.30 min.later wife calls again, drove thru apuddle of water about 8too10ins.deep.jeep dies.i calljeep will not tow back to dealer.1 jeep dealer will not take jeep ,[didi not buy it there].jeep has 1404 miles on it.air intake is in a bad spot.front of grill water will get in every time it rains, does this mean it will die again not happy
Pros: The 3 sunroofs
Cons: the cloth interior and gas milage
Advice: don't get cloth interior.........upgrade to leather.I hope they do something about the cloth interior. It does not resist water spots or other spills like most upolstory. I have been very disappointed with the response I have gotten from Chrysler. You can not spot clean the seats without it leaving a bigger spot. Very unhappy with that. I am also unhappy with the cargo area. If groceries or what ever you have in the back shifts while driving when you open the back liftgate everything comes tumbling out on you or the ground! This is the 4th Jeep I have owned and never had these problems??? Need to improve this asap.
Cons: No radio control on steering wheel
Advice: Get radio controls on steering wheelVery pleased, have had 2 Grand Cherokees and went to buy a third when I was dissappointed with what is offered for the money now. I felt the for the money and quality, the Commander was the way to go.
Pros: Ride Comfort and stability
Advice: Take advantage of the rebates - V6 is fine for me - no hauling -This is my first Jeep but not my first Chry. product. I was in a Lincoln LS V8. To my surprise the JC rides just as soft / at times softer and more quiet then the LS did. Workmanship looks and Feels Great. I really like the driving position and the sturdy feel you get. 2,200 miles on my 65th Black 3.7 model and like it more each day. Very Happy -
Pros: Smart Headlamps
Cons: Third Row Seats too small
Advice: Know that the Commander stands out more when its dressed up with chrome wheelsThe performance of this vehicle is excellent in that its right up there with the top performing SUV in its class. The controls are located in the appropriate place and easy to operate. The sky view in the cabin gives you a airy feeling and not confined. The leather trim is very soft and seems durable. Very smooth right for an SUV. Its over all looks is right up there with Cadilac, Lincoln, Tahoe, Yukon, Armanda, Infinity, Although I think that some people are fooled by the styling of the Jeep Commander in that they associate the Jeep with being uncomfortable howerver when you look inside to see all the options available at a much cheaper price of all other SUVS then you would want to consider the Jeep Commander. I am not too hot on the gas mileage but its a SUV so you have to expect some sacrafices.
