Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Cons: Rough ride.
Advice: Go for the Dynamic Stability Control option. Not as cushy as the rest of the Jag family, but a sacrifice for the AWD handling. Cornering is great. Acceleration is great. Braking on wet pavement grabs like velcro on the tires! Appearance is in a class of its own for the price. Mechanical reliability is questionnable. I've owned it for 4 months and its had to go back 3 times already.
Pros: Sound system; safety features; wiper sensors; leather; cost; dealership; J-drive
Cons: Reading again and again the car was underpowered. This is not true.
Advice: Get weather package & manual tran on 2.5The fit and finish of the interior of the car was beyond reproach. If you don't think the exterior is the most beautiful in its class, put down the crack pipe before you hurt someone. The rear seats basically will fit 2 kids to the age of 12; adults can handle the space for limited time ( 1 hour) only. Performance of the 2.5 paired with auto will be sufficient for most situations. My Passat GLS w/V6 (manual) is about the same as the Jag 2.5 with manual. If you want to compete for speed with the Maxima/I35/BMW3, you probably need the 3.0. With upgrades, this car feels safer than a bank and as luxurious as the Four Seasons. 4 star treatment by dealer (West Herr Jag).
Pros: the looks and the ride
Cons: the washers on hood leak
Advice: i love the carI love the ride,it gives u a sporty feel!
Pros: outstanding performance
Cons: trunk latch malfunction
Advice: drive itWe bought a 3.0 5 speed after driving BMW 3 and 5, Volvo S60 and Audi. The Jag was the clear winner in all categories. Very fast and comfortable. Outstanding handling. Dealer ia a pleasure to deal with. Love how beautiful the car is and that there is not another on every street corner. If you know high performance and luxury, give it a try.
Pros: Come on
Cons: No power memory seats
Advice: Check out the sport package. The performance is awesomeWe bought the x-type with the sport package, and absolutely love it. It's quick, quiet, and so much fun to drive. It's roomy, yet feels like a little 2 seater from the drivers perspective, it's that sporty. It really is a dream car, at a great price, and we've had most of the luxury cars around including lexus and cadillacs to compare it to. All I can say is YOU'LL LOVE IT!!!
Cons: small trunk
Advice: Test drive it's competitors and you will buy a Jag.After doing a comparison drive of an Audi, BMW 325xi and X-Type Jag, each an AWD vevhicle - I settled on the Jag. Now, after 2,000 miles I have no regrets. This car responds very well when I ask it to and comes better equiped than it's nearest competitors.
Pros: Navigation System/Touch Screen
Cons: No memory seats
Advice: Check known bugsVery impressed with handling, acceleration, braking. Could be a bit quicker, but feel is superb. Very comfortable, great seating position.
