Pros: beautiful interior
Cons: cup holders in front are hard to reach
Advice: great price on used buy one you'll love it
lots of power even with 3.0 liter beautiful car head turner. very quietPros: 5-speed manual
Cons: Fit and finish, dealer's performance
Advice: Avoid this vehicle
This would be a nice car - nicely appointed with reasonable performance - at half the price. The S-type does not compare favorably with other cars in its price range - the BMW 5-series or Lexus are vastly superior machines for roughly the same price. My S-type squeaks and rattles - OK for a Taurus, not OK for a $50k 'luxury' car, has gone through a set of rear brakes in 30k miles, and has neither the performance or penache of the 5-series. The dealer's performance has been mediocre at best, dismal at worst, failing to fix the squeaks and rattles in three separate trips and claiming that 'all S-types wear out rear brakes faster than the fronts'. My wife's Taurus is, no kidding, better appointed. Consider another entry in this class.Pros: Jag styling, doesn't look like every other car
Cons: Nothing worth mentioning
Advice: Find one with a few miles on it, save a lot
Purchased an 11 month old 4.2, saved almost $20K. Very happy with the car, fast and comfortable. In a town full of Beemers, Mercedes and Lexus, Dallas, the Jag stands out.Pros: Exterior styling and wonderful leather interior. Real quality. Sunglass holder above mirror.
Cons: center console cup holders. They are too narrow.
Advice: Try it, you'll like it! Good value for the money.
This car is great. It handles like a dream, accelerates well, brakes well. Exterior and interior styling are fabulous, and it turns a lot of heads. The suspension is very nice with good road feel, but not too harsh. The car is loaded with safety equipment. I had some quality issues the first week (damaged paint, a a squeak, and a clutch problem that occurred when the dealer came to pick up the car). All was fixed promptly, and the dealership was very responsive. I previously had a sport model Chrysler 300 M. This car handles SO much better. I also test drove a BMW 528 sport model. The Jag is very close in handling, but has a bigger trunk and more seat room than the BMW. The shifter and clutch require a bit more effort in the Jaguar. My husband liked the car so much, he went out and bought the 4.2 L automatic.Pros: Touch screen NAV and audio combo
Cons: The front grill is too gaudy
Advice: R-type only one to get
Very responsive in both accelaration and handling. Interior made with very quality oriented materials. Recaro seats are supportive during lateral forces.
