Pebble Beach in California is known as the setting for some of the most elegant and upscale car events in the United States. It’s also a fitting spot for the debut of new luxury cars, such as a group recently unveiled by Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations. Autobytel went to Pebble Beach to check out the preview of the Jaguar Project 7, which is a road-worthy race car based on the Jaguar F-Type. Land Rover also chose the occasion to debut the new Range Rover Sport SVR. First, though, came some information about the 2014 Lightweight E-Type, a super limited edition Jaguar with only 6 examples produced. It’s based on the original Lightweight E-Type that went out of production in 1964, when the company planned a production run of 18 but only completed 12. Then came Project 7, which was first brought to Pebble Beach in 2013 and made an encore this year because Jaguar decided to put the car into production. This open-top coupe boasts 575 horsepower and a 0-60 time of 3.8 seconds. Finally, the Range Rover Sport SVR was designed to deliver true, extreme performance. It’s the fastest and most powerful Land Rover ever built, going from 0-60 in just 4.8 seconds and is one of the fastest SUVs ever made.
