Whether you want an affordable commuter car or something more luxurious, it's likely there's a hybrid that fits your needs and budget. While a hybrid can help you save money by reducing your gas bill, an unreliable hybrid negates that savings fast.

We looked at reliability ratings for today’s hybrids and picked the most trouble-free of the lot to include on our list. There’s no guarantee these cars will run perfectly, but chances are good you won’t spend more on repairs than you’ll save on gas. Here are 10 of the longest-lasting hybrid cars.

2021 Honda Accord Hybrid

The 2021 Honda Accord Hybrid is powered by a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine and two electric motors that was named to Ward’s list of 10 Best Engines and Propulsion Systems 2020. It generates a combined 212 horsepower and is paired to a continuously variable automatic transmission. This sedan has high reliability ratings that help make it a long-lasting vehicle.

There’s good standard safety features including collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation, lane keeping assist, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition. Toyota has a reputation for building long-lasting cars, and the 2021 Toyota Camry Hybrid lives up to that reputation with high predicted reliability ratings. It also has a good warranty that includes 8-years/100,000-miles for hybrid components and 10-years/150,000-miles for the hybrid battery. It also has a roomy interior and a spacious 15.1-cubic foot trunk for all your cargo.

Power comes from a 2.5-liter 4-cyliner engine and an electric motor for a combined 208 horsepower. This is paired to a continuously variable automatic transmission. The Toyota Camry Hybrid gets EPA-estimated fuel economy of up to 51 mpg in the city and 53 mpg on the highway.

2021 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid

The 2021 Hyundai Ioniq is available as a hybrid or as a plug-in hybrid. Both are powered by a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine with an electric motor paired to a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It delivers a combined 139 horsepower and gets an EPA-estimated 58 mpg city and 60 mpg highway for the hybrid or 119 mpge for the plug-in.

The 2022 Honda Insight has great fuel economy ratings with an EPA estimate of up to 55 mpg in the city and 49 mpg on the highway so it’s sure to save you money at the pump. The Insight also has good reliability ratings so you can keep it for years to come, trouble-free.

Power for this long-lasting hybrid comes from a 1.5-liter 4-cyliner engine and an electric motor with a combined 151 horsepower paired to a continuously variable automatic transmission. There’s a large list of standard features including an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. 2021 Lexus ES Hybrid

The 2021 Lexus ES Hybrid adds a luxury option to our list. This sedan combines good predicted reliability ratings with a smooth ride and an upscale interior. Power comes from a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and two electric motors for a combined 215 horsepower. This is paired to a continuously variable automatic transmission.

EPA-estimated fuel economy for the long-lasting ES Hybrid is 43 mpg in the city and 44 mpg on the highway.
