Not too long ago, options for hybrid buyers were limited. Today, there are a wide range of choices. There are compact hybrids ideally suited for daily commutes, luxury cars with beautiful interiors, and even SUVs that can handle the whole family.

It’s easy to find a hybrid that fits both your needs and your budget. If you happen to live someplace with snowy weather, there are even plenty of options with all-wheel drive. Here are 10 hybrids with all-wheel drive that will help you handle less-than-perfect roads.

2022 Toyota Prius

The 2022 Toyota Prius is easily the most well-known hybrid you can buy, and it comes with available all-wheel drive. Even with all-wheel drive, the Prius is a fuel-efficient choice. It gets an EPA-estimated 51 mpg in the city, 47 mpg on the highway, and 52 mpg combined, making it an ideal car for those with long daily commutes.

The all-wheel-drive system in the Prius activates at speeds from 0-6 mph when you often need extra traction and then as needed at speeds up to 43 mph. You can get the Prius with all-wheel drive on either the LE for $27,135 or the XLE for $29,575.

2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-In Hybrid

The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is a plug-in hybrid vehicle with seating for five people and standard all-wheel drive. It’s available in a range of three trims priced from $36,695 to $42,395. EPA-fuel economy estimates have yet to be released but expect the Outlander PHEV to post high figures with an available 24 miles of pure electric driving.

Standard features include leather seating surfaces, 8-way power adjustable heated front seats, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, and dual-zone automatic climate control. There’s also an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and 6-speaker audio. Standard safety includes forward collision mitigation with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and blind-spot warning with lane change assist and rear cross-traffic alert.

2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid

The 2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid is a three-row SUV with seating for up to eight passengers. It’s also available with second-row captain’s chairs, bringing seating down to seven albeit with improved comfort. There’s plenty of room for cargo, with 16.0 cubic feet behind the third row, 48.4 cubic feet behind the second row, and 84.3 cubic feet behind the first row. It can also tow up to 3,500 pounds properly equipped.

The Highlander Hybrid with all-wheel drive gets an EPA-estimated 35 mpg in all conditions making family road trips easier on your budget. All four hybrid trims of the Highlander offer all-wheel drive. Pricing starts at $40,335.

2021 Ford Escape Hybrid

The 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid is available in a range of three trims, all with optional all-wheel drive. This five-person crossover is roomy and comfortable, and it gets good fuel economy. The EPA estimates it will get 43 mpg in the city, 37 mpg on the highway, and 40 mpg combined making it easy on your wallet as gas prices rise.

It also comes with a good range of standard features including dual-zone automatic climate control, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert. It’s an affordable and fuel-efficient option with the security of available all-wheel drive. Pricing ranges from $28,030 to $33,600.

2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid

The 2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is a five-person crossover available in a range of five trims. All have standard all-wheel drive with a 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a tilt and telescopic steering wheel, and dual-zone automatic climate control. There’s good standard safety with pre-collision with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, automatic high beams, and full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control.

EPA-estimated fuel economy for the RAV4 Hybrid is 41 mpg in the city, 38 mpg on the highway, and 40 mpg combined, making it a fuel-efficient option for small families. Pricing ranges from $28,900 up to $37,430.

2021 Subaru Crosstrek Plug-In Hybrid

The 2021 Subaru Crosstrek Plug-In Hybrid is available in a single trim that includes standard all-wheel drive. It has a starting price of $35,345 with a 6-way power driver’s seat, a 4-way power front passenger seat, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, and leather seating surfaces with orange contrast stitching.

The 2021 Toyota Sienna is available exclusively with a hybrid powertrain. All four trims offer the option for all-wheel drive. Minivans might not be the go-to family choices they once were, but they’re still a fantastic way to get the kids and all their stuff around town.

Standard features on the Sienna include a 9.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, 6-speaker audio, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. There’s also three-zone automatic climate control, an 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, and a whopping 18 cup and bottle holders. The Sienna with all-wheel drive gets an EPA-estimated 35 mpg in the city, 36 mpg on the highway, and 35 mpg combined. Pricing ranges from $36,460 to $50,460.

2021 Honda CR-V Hybrid

The 2021 Honda CR-V Hybrid has standard all-wheel drive across a range of three trims. Pricing ranges from $30,560 to $36,350, making it an affordable five-person crossover. Standard features include heated front seats, power driver’s seat with two-position memory, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and two USB ports.

Collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation, blind-spot information system with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist are also standard features on the CR-V Hybrid. Fuel economy is good with an EPA-estimated 40 mpg in the city, 35 mpg on the highway, and 38 mpg combined.

2021 Lexus RX 450h

The 2021 Lexus RX 450h is a two-row crossover with seating for up to five passengers. There’s also the long wheelbase RX 450hl, which adds a third row of seating for up to seven people. Standard features for this luxury vehicle include power front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, synthetic leather seating surfaces, an 8.0-inch infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, six USB ports, and a 9-speaker audio system.

It also has standard all-wheel drive and good fuel economy, with up to an EPA-estimated 31 mpg in the city, 28 mpg on the highway, and 30 mpg combined. Pricing for the RX 450h is $48,020 to $52,425 while the RX 450hl is priced from $51,410 to $55,790.

The 2021 Volvo XC60 Recharge is a plug-in hybrid SUV with seating for up to 5 people. It also has standard all-wheel drive. It gets up to 19 miles of pure electric range with an EPA-estimated 57 mpge, making it an excellent option for those who want a fuel-efficient vehicle.
