Pros: Lots of room, sexy vehicle
Cons: 10 miles to the gallon
Advice: Like nothing else.
This has to be the best SUV I have seen yet. It is a sleek, sexy and surpisingly powerful vehicle for its size. However, if you're looking for fuel efficiency... this (or any large SUV) is not for you. If gas is not a concern... you will not find a sexier SUV. The one I drove had a 6' lift, 37' tires and was glossy black. Lots of room, touch screen navigation, dvd player etc... it was loaded to the 9's. I figure with all the extras this vehicle had over $70k spent on it.Pros: Off road ability
Cons: Would like more options in the cab
Advice: If your concerned about what people think of you buy a Toyota Hybrid
Just bought a 06 H2 SUT and believe I made the right choice for me. I don’t mind the gas mileage my wife’s Jeep only averages 13 mpg and my old truck was the same. I don’t off road very often but the area we go to has terrible roads that have claimed plenty of plastic bumper covers and extra body parts. The one Hummer I’ve seen up there always makes it through and has never lost any body moldings. I’ll tell you one thing that made me pick the H2 is all the people who absolutely hate these vehicles for reasons that don’t make any sense. Looking at the idiots on the FUH2 web site made we want one of these things even more. Thanks FUH2!Pros: Truck bed on SUV
Cons: gas mileage
Advice: compare the resale value against other choices then figure in poor mpg to see if it works for you.
The truck is perfect for what I bought it for. An upscale sport ute that can haul something that I wouldn't want inside a normal sport ute. i.e. something dirty, smelly, greasy, etc.. It does fit in the garage which is important. It is much more upscale than anything else that will fit in the garage. Interior is very nice and the overall build quality of mine is great. Gas mileage is averaging 11 mpg which is acceptable to me. I've had F350 crew cab with powerstroke that averaged 10mpg, tahoe 13mpg, Dodge 1500 crewcab 14mpg, chevy express van limited 12mpg so the 11 isn't so bad for me. The wife and I both love it! Resale value better than other large SUV's also.Pros: By far the Overall look of the outside!
Cons: You can not drive with the tailgate down because of the spare tire.
Advice: If your buying this for a working truck don't.The bed isnt large enough
We Love the H-2 SUT. It has lots of room in both the front and back seats. The turning is incredible for a truck this large. The manufacture thought of everything. We put the larger tires and rims on and it looks GREAT. The inside detail is in a class of it's own. When driving this car you truly feel special. However, with the poor gas milage we only use this on the weekends, it has to be the 3rd car in a family.Pros: Rugged, a great deal of passenger room
Cons: Cost, amount of utility space it tries to offer, etc
Advice: Consider this only if you cant afford a pickup truck and SUV on the same purchase.
It's a decent specialty utility vehicle. Actually one of the few decent made American SUV's out there. The exterior is kick-butt rugged but the cab is small, ugly, with poor vision, etc. I only have one dirt bike which would need an extender to the cab to fit in that space. The last review is obviously looking for utility vehicle that is a pickup. No way any SUV can haul a few dirt bikes, ATV, and larger items beyond 4 feet in length. But for hauling about 700 pounds of misc. equipment its great. I guess the best way to describe it is if you work hauling stuff but want something a bit nicer then a pickup then look into this. But for the price of both a Chevy SUV and Nissan pickup to that of one Hummer then look at buying those two vehicles for use seperately (cheaper then a Hummer). If you looking for a nice SUV then get a Range Rover. It's got great interior, huge engine that can handle a trailer hitch, and is about 1000% more comfortable/luxurious. It's a bit much but do what I do- read reviews, ask 'real' people you see with those cars in the parking lot, street, etc... Dealers always swear that the car floats on water if you'll buy one make sure you dont see something else you regret getting instead.Pros: none
Cons: everything
Advice: Save your money. Get a full-size truck instead.
Only test drove it. Visibility sucks. Interior room is claustrophobic. Build quality is lacking. Built off the unreliable Chevy truck platform. Major recall on the H2 steering system. Even Car & Driver think it sucks http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?section_id=16&article_id=8892&page_number=1Pros: Returning it
Cons: Being seen in it
Advice: Run away
I drove it for a month. 3 times needed to leave at dealer, then I was in a collision and I was responsible for slaughtering an entire family when I crushed their Toyota landcruiser like a bug.
