How to Quickly Detail a Car — Meguiar’s Car Care Series Step 5 of 5

This is the fifth step in the car care cycle. In the previous video of this series, Autobytel and Meguiar’s showed you how to wax your car, which is the last thing you need to do after washing, cleaning, and polishing it. But after you’ve done all that work and your car looks flawless, the sad truth is, it’s not going to stay that way for long. The weather, bird droppings, pollen, and other contaminants can quickly mess up your perfectly achieved finish. The fifth step is quick detailing, a way of maintaining and prolonging your fresh wax job. And Mike Pennington, Meguiar’s car care product expert, will show you how to choose a quick detailing product and how to perform this step in the cycle. If you’re serious about maintaining the quality of your car’s finish, the quick detailing step is an important one, because it removes pollutants and debris before they have a chance to cause permanent damage. Bird droppings, for example, contain chemicals that can etch into the clear coat, causing marks that will have to be removed with compound. And remember all the particles that got stuck in your clay bar? It’s better to prevent them from bonding to your car in the first place!
