Old Reliable
Pros: reliable
Cons: road noise
excellent service handles very well for SUV good powerful responsive rideI wish I had not waste my money over price
Pros: The tires
Cons: back seat space.
My pilot, I had 2900 mile and it stops performance I had to put it in for service for a week.A little disappointing
Pros: General concept
Cons: Fit and Finish
This pilot is the fifth new Honda I've bought in my life. It is also the most disappointing. I've owned 3 civics and a V6 Accord. These cars were all put together well and performed as they were designed to wonderfully. My Pilot that I bought new in 2006 although generally a good vehicle and great concept it does fall short. It is somewhat under powered and the transmission is clunky, it seems to not want to gear up. The interior finish was the biggest disappointment. Nothing matches up properly, doors sills bending up, etc. The exterior is not up to Hondas standards, panels rubbing each other, taking off paint. I've also noticed that in the winter the doors quite often get frozen shut. This has caused a few panic situations as I do have 2 toddlers in the middle row seats. This vehicle has made me start looking at other manufacturers.good set of wheels
Pros: roomy
Cons: road noise, stuff that disappears between seat and center console
taken several long trips. excellent ride and comfort. noisy tires, just got rid of them, did have 75K on the tires. plenty of power. great carHonda Pilot 2005
Pros: AWD
Cons: Leather seats
Although is very nice and minimum maintenance, suspension is very noisy, road sound is elevated and many interior parts after years are generating anoing noises. Fuel consuption is ok and seating capacity is excellent. Leather seats are not at the level the car is sold or marketed. Engine is very smooth and silent.Pros: Front seat warmers for cold weather
Cons: Honda's optional roof rack cross bars create wind noise on the road
Advice: Excellent value in the low $30
Excellent value over all compared to all other SUV's that I considered, with seating for eight. The pop up rear window give you a lot of flexability to carry long objects without having to tie them down on the roof rack. After over one year of ownership, the best gas milelage that I have seen was on the road at 28 MPG when the engine automatically moves to the ECO mode and runs on three cylinders. I am averaging 18.4 miles overall. The front wheel drive is excellent in the snow. Honda's bluetooth works poorly with bad reception. This is my second Honda Pilot. I still own my first with 118,000 miles that has requred not major repairs and still runs great. This SUV really keeps its value.Pros: 3rd Row
Cons: When using the shift lever you can easily hit the wiper blade; Stereo controls are a little funny.
Advice: Buy leather.
We test drove the base model and purchased the EX non leather version. Had previous Honda with great cloth seats. We had them replaced on the Pilot at 7,000 miles! They were piling on the seams. Honda said it was normal wear! Wish we purchased the leather! Other than that we are very pleased with the vehicle. Rides great and very versatile. Very comfortable to get in and out of.
