When it comes to one of the industry's wildest aftermarket extravaganzas, the 2015 Honda Fit is go: Honda will highlight the all-new Fit as part of a special program leading up to the 2014 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, which is scheduled for Nov. 4, 2014, in Las Vegas.

The automaker recently kicked off the initiative by announcing the six different teams that are part of the project, including Bisimoto Engineering, Kontrabrands, MAD Industries, Spoon Sports USA, Tjin Edition and Kenny Vinces. Each will work their magic on a 2015 Honda Fit, deploying their own vision of style and performance and relying on Honda enthusiasts to be the ultimate judges of their success. Thus, while all six modified 2015 Honda Fits will be shown at SEMA come this fall, just one, chosen based on social-media input across the Honda Tumblr, Facebook and Twitter accounts, will earn a special award from the automaker.

The actual online HQ for the 2015 Honda Fit SEMA project will be hondaloves.tumblr.com, with #ProjectFit as the official hashtag, and folks can expect to see a steady stream of fresh Fit images, GIFs and video right up to the close of the program, slated for October 22.

Providing the party line today is Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Division, who said: "Personalized Honda subcompacts were the foundation of the original import tuner revolution, and the all-new Fit upholds that legacy with a great powertrain, an engaging chassis and renowned Honda quality, all at an affordable price. Our Fit project vehicle program and our Tumblr initiative, #ProjectFit, together offer a unique, fun way to demonstrate the personalization potential of this great new car."

And although there's no guarantee that any of the SEMA goodies will appear on a production model of the 2015 Honda Fit, the show is well known as a test bed for future retail technologies—like the recently introduced supercharger for the Honda CR-Z that debuted at last year's SEMA event and is at dealerships now.

The 2015 Honda Fit is now on sale for $15,525.
