Changes for the 2013 Honda CR-V:

One year after a complete redesign, the Honda CR-V rolls into 2013 without changes.

Model Lineup:

The 2013 Honda CR-V is a compact crossover SUV with 5-passenger seating. The CR-V LX is equipped with everything you need, if not a few things that you want. Upgrading to the CR-V EX adds aluminum wheels, fog lights, dark tinted rear glass, a better stereo, a power sunroof, a cargo cover, and more. Highlights of the CR-V EX-L include leather seats, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a premium sound system, and automatic headlights. A navigation system and a rear entertainment system are optional only for the EX-L.

Engines and Transmissions:

All 2013 Honda CR-V models are equipped with a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine making 185 horsepower. A 5-speed automatic is standard, and powers the crossover SUV’s front wheels. All-wheel drive is optional.

Fuel Economy Ratings:

The CR-V is EPA-rated to get 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway, for a combined rating of 26 mpg. Choose the 4WD model, and fuel drops by 1 mile per gallon across the board.

Safety Ratings:

Crash protection is one of the Honda CR-V’s strengths. The NHTSA gives it a 5-star overall rating, the highest possible. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety calls the 2013 CR-V a “Top Safety Pick.”

Technology Highlights:

Honda includes Bluetooth connectivity with music streaming, SMS text messaging capability, and Pandora Internet radio for every Honda CR-V. A reversing camera system is also standard, images shown on an Intelligent Multi-Information Display that conveys a wealth of information. The CR-V EX-L model is the only one offered with a navigation system or a rear-seat entertainment system. They cannot, however, be installed together on the same vehicle. You have to choose one or the other.
