Pros: Gas mileage - anywhere from 25-31 miles a gallon
Cons: Small gas tank
Advice: BUY IT - You won't regret it!I LOVE my CR-V. It has lots of pep (more than you would think w/4 cylinder), looks awesome and drives great. The inside is really spacious. And having a CD & cassette player helps out a lot. I looked at Jeeps and Blazers before buying. I even test drove a Blazer. This is by far my favorite. I would definitely buy another. The only drawback is the small gas tank. It gets great mileage but when you drive 100 miles round trip to work you have to fill up a couple of times a week
Cons: nothing yet
Advice: vehicle sells itselfGreat all aroud vehicle, surprisingly good power.
Pros: Interior Space
Cons: Radio is a bit far to reach and obstructed by auto shifter
Advice: Get the EX!! Excellent small/medium SUV!!We have had the new CR-V for 6 months. It's been great and trouble free. I have been getting about 24 mpg with my automatic. Love the roomy feeling on the inside. We've tried its real time 4x4 on soft dry sand, mud, small stream, snow, and rocky trails. It works beautifly. Bigger tires would have been great. Power is more than adequate for most people. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have a little more power. It handles just like a car. Hope this is helpful for somebody!
Pros: Handling and Power
Cons: Position of automatic trans shift lever--but being picky about it!
Advice: If you are in the market for a small sport-ute, look at the new CR-V!If you are looking for a great little sport-utility, grab one of these! My wife recently took delivery of a 2002 model, and since driving it, I have been trying to get her to swap with me and drive my larger 2001 SUV. No way, she says! I have never seen a small sport-ute that I would consider taking on a long road trip until now. Handling is excellent and power is right-on for its size. Honda has a winner in the 2002 CR-V!
Pros: Nothing stands out as a Excellent feature
Cons: Gear shift lever placement and CD changer location
Advice: It is a good buy, not a great one, nothing to get excited about. It rides much like a car, needs more power on steep or long up hills. Interior is roomy for it's size. The rear seats don't fold down flat has a slight incline. Not as easy to load long items alone. The automatic shifter is awkward needs to be moved. CD changer sits in direct sunlight. The air and vent controls are large but mounted too low. The body does not sound as solid as the RAV4.
Pros: Value for the dollar!
Cons: Just to nitpick I'd say Honda should offer 16 inch wheels and tires as an option.
Advice: Buy the EX before Honda realizes it is underpriced! Before the 2002 was released in November, I read every review I could find. I expected an improved version of the old CR-V design, and what I got was a wonderful surprise! This car is small (relative to my Q45) outside and very roomy (relative to my Q45) inside! Its 4 cylinder engine outperforms ALL small SUVs on the market and many of the 6 cylinder ones. It even gives some of the big V8s a surprise! This performance is delivered by a silky smooth automatic. It handles and brakes like a car, and in a recent mishap with a drunk driver, demonstrated excellent emergency handling. It is comfortable and economical for long trips, and the 4wheel drive is great in the snow. I love this car! My married son just bought one too!
Cons: Lack of foot rest
Advice: Get the EXThis is our forth Honda. We've had two Accords, a Prelude and now the CR-V. All have been great cars. The CR-V is by far the roomiest and is just as quiet as the rest. The fit and trim is excellent and the visibility is very good. The ride is a little stiffer than expected, but will probably help when we load it up for camping. I always liked the left foot rest in the past cars and is missed on this one. But I do see a fifth Honda in the future when this on is finally paid off. Keith W.
