Cons: TRANSMISSION FAILURE
Advice: WARNING..DO NOT BUY THIS CAR!!...PURCHASED A HONDA ACCORD EX V6 2003. RAN GREAT, VERY SMOOTH. 'BUT' HERE'S THE CATCH, LESS THEN A YEAR TRANSMISSION FAILS, HAD IT FIXED. AND NOW TRANSMISSION IS ACTING UP AGAIN. I'VE HEARD THAT FROM THE LATE 1990'S AND UP THEY HAVE HAD BAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. WARRANTY WON'T DO MUCH AS WELL. AS A FAITHFUL HONDA BUYER, I CAN SAY THIS IS THE LAST HONDA I WILL OWN.
Advice: wait for clearence i saved $4000Got $4000 of @ honda clearence ;)
Pros: Dash Board
Cons: NOISE, NOISE, NOISE
Advice: BE PatientI like the way my 2003 Honda Accord looks. I do not like: the brakes that I had to replace with only 18,000 miles on it. Dealer informed me that this is wear and tear and not covered under warrenty. I have taken my vehicle in over 8 different times for a noise that I get in the head liner. The dealer keeps informing me that they have fixed the problem and then the next day it is back again. The even sent an 'engineer' from California to see what the problem was. He made them grease the head liner and it came back two days later. I stand behind the Honda when it comes to the engine and reliability....but when it comes to customer service and interior issues they fail in my book
Pros: 5-speed auto, abs standard; excellent seats, great heat/air
Cons: Nonintuitive radio/HVAC controls, rear drum brakes, skinny low-trac tires
Advice: Compare it with something you probably wouldn't consider, like an ImpalaSwapped a 2002 Regal for this because of Honda's bulletproof reputation. Had to go in 3 times for brake trouble. Why they used rear drums is puzzling. Had a 2001 Accord 4cylEX and 2002 LXV6, and this is a better driver by far than either of those. Neither had any torque, even the V6 had to get to 3000rpm for anything to happen. With vvti there is good torque for a small motor, 5-speed auto: about time. The others were quite restricted by their 4-speeds, they would shift into (fairly gutless) 3rd at 65-75, so good timing was essential. Got up to 33mpg with this, this is a tight handling 3100 lb car that needs more tire, I'd say 225.60.15 would help. Wonder why someone had to monkey with the HVAC controls, the radio control is mixed in with heat/air, nonintuitive and of questionable logic. This is a post-sale review, traded it for Impala 3.4.
Cons: Honda Accord LX
Advice: Do not buy this vehicle, it will be fine at the beginning but will be a problem by 1000 milesI have had more problems w/ this car. I am taking it back to the dealer for the 4th time for brakes, the cruise control has stopped working, the oxygen sensor had to be replaced, the car has pulled to the right since the first day. I got so tired of the 1st dealership, where I got it (serviced it 5 or 6 times, awful customer service, Courtesy Honda), that I took it to a 2nd dealership and it is going back again. I have had problems w/ the drivers side door, the automatic locks squeeking, the brakes-the brakes-the brakes, rotors, pads, clicking noise specifically, intake breather tube and much more. I would be happy if they would just take it back, but I don't think they want to deal with the problems. I don't want any money or another car, just peace of mind!
Advice: Talk with other Honda ownersWe have owned 4 new Honda's in the past and I have a 94 civic and a 95 civic for both my kids. Both the civic's are great but the Accord has been a lemon from day one. It's been the shop 3 times for brakes and 4 times for rattles in the door. We have talked with 3 semi-local service Honda dealers and they all told us there is NO fix for either of our problems. We have been instructed by each of the service departments to contact Honda directly with our problem. I have been set up by Honda with a case worker but nobody has contacted us yet. I have bought new Honda's since 1988 and we are very disappointed to here Honda has had the same problems on the 2002,2003 and 2004 Accords. Plese pay attention to your next purchase of a Honda. Signed very disappointed!!!
Cons: cheap plastic on front bumper
Advice: Go for itSurprising power and tremendous gas mileage on trips.
