Pros: 5.3 liter vortec V-8
Cons: nothing
Advice: Buy it! you wont be sorry.
I bought my first new Sierra in June of 04, After driving Ford, Toyota, and Dodge My Sierra blows them all away. This truck has it all comfort, power, and looks. I love the off road package and have already tested it with spectacular results. I have owned several other 4X4s in the past years and this one puts them to shame.Pros: Plenty of room for kids and cargo
Cons: Tire wear, rides too soft
Advice: Be prepared to deal with cranky service people
Overall I am happy with this truck. My only complaint after one year is tire wear, specifically on the right front. The truck has 13,000 plus miles and I have had one alignment and one tire rotation by dealer, and a second alignment with independent. Independent inspected and test drove truck and mentioned the shocks were bad and with warranty I should take it to the dealer. Took to dealer immediately, and because the service manager 'went to bat' for me they replaced the struts, but was told the worn tire was my problem, not theirs.Pros: 5.3L engine, very smooth
Cons: lack of external fuel filter, in tank now
Advice: do not get tow package if you want boulevard ride
Excellent handling for a long wheel-base pickup. Stiff suspension is standard with tow package, but is excellent when towing. Plenty of power with 5.3 L engine and decent mileage, up to 20 MPG on highway, averaging 17.5 MPG combined. Comfortable seating, even on long drives. Braking is excellent, even with the return to drums on rear. Dual caliper discs with larger rotors on front seem to provide better brake quality than previous years with rear discs. Entire truck is well put together, very tight.Pros: onstar
Cons: n/a
Advice: n/a
This truck is greatPros: 4 DOORS ARE GREAT
Cons: HOW GM DEALS WITH THERE CUSTOMERS AFTER A LARGE PURCHACE.
Advice: TEST DRIVE UNDER ALL CONDITIONS.
i BOUGHT THIS TRUCK, HAD A VIBRATION ABOVE 80MPH, THE DEALERSHIP TRIED 5 TIMES TO FIX, NOW GM RELATIONS SAYS I'M ABUSING IT AND WILL NOT DO ANY THING TO FIX IT.. MAKE SURE U TEST DRIVE ABOVE 80 BEFORE U BYE IT... THIS VIBRATION WILL RATTLE YOUR TEETH, THEY SAY ITS NORMAL.Pros: Luxurious interior
Cons: No cylander deactivation
Advice: Excellent for personal use- can be a beast of burden when you need it to be
Great riding truck. The engine is very smooth and refined for a pushrod- comparable to the FORD and NISSAN truck V8s, with decent power and impressive economy. Handling doesn't suffer too badly with a full load. By far- the best looking truck out there- much more grown-up looking than the alternatives. Only truck close is the F150. The interior is not cutting-edge, but works well and grows on you. If you don't pound the gas pedal- you can achieve 20 MPG in mixed driving. Opt for the tonneau cover- it seems to help. I would humbly recommend this truck to anyone with a family and a need to tow/haul. It is attractive, reliable, and knows its place, unlike the insecure Titan. It also makes the Ram look like a cartoon. The F150 is a good alternative, but don't expect anywhere near the fuel economy.Pros: Front view.
Cons: Parking brake has no automatic release when put in gear.
Advice: Buy for the long run
Soft ride, great turning radius, smooth transmission, good vision, easy to ready dash.
